Carmen got my name in Pea's Halloween swap. I received my package today. Thanks Carmen!

I will probably be a witch for a while. We have started the kitchen redo today. I am staying right with the handyman every step of the way so he will get this done. No dragging around on this and it will get done fast! Yeah, I know after reading Rosa's posts on her kitchen redo I am entering a nightmare.

Frosty Dan and Brown Robyn are growing up. They are no longer little boys. Dan is starting to get dark on his chest and looking more and more like his daddy, Nitro.
Brown Robyn's spots are coming out more and more. He is looking alot like his mommy, Diva.

I have talked William into letting me keep Brown Robyn but will be listing Frosty Dan for sale. We just can't keep 3 bucks and we really want to keep Nitro for Diva and Brown Robyn for Sammi.

Flower had 6 baby bunnies. They are all solid black or solid gray. Dotty had 4 babies and they are all spotted like her. One day I hope to have one that looks like the daddy, Thumper.

Time to build a fire and settle in for the evening. Hope you had a blessed day!

Monday Monday

Last 2 nights I have been able to have a fire in the stove. It has been so nice to sit by the stove with the lights out and just watch the flames. Laundry is finally all caught up. Housework is getting done, soap orders are out, animals are enjoying the cool weather. Its just a wonderful day. I love cool and cold weather!

I just got wonderful packages in the mail! Lib made some absolutely beautiful dolls to give my grnaddaughters for Christmas. I can't believe how beautiful they are! Lib you really aren't charging enough for your talent. Thank you so much!
Rhonda Jean had a give away and I was the winner! She stitched this lovely sampler that I am going to frame and hang it so I will see it everyday and remember to live simply. Thank you so much Rhonda Jean. I have been admiring your stitchwork and now I have one of your beautiful pieces of work!

This and That

Kathleen is having a ornament exchange. I took part last year and had such fun. I am joining in again this year. If you think you might want to take part pop on over to her blog and get the info.

We have rain! We have had a few showers Wednesday and Thursday but last night and today we have had steady rain. It sounds so good I didn't even mind milking and feeding in the rain. The ducks and geese are having a ball playing in the mud puddles. The goats on the other hand are staying in their stalls so they don't get wet. They do not like getting wet at all.

I made Fran's scrapbook with her cards. She has 36 right now and when I took her book over to her today she was sitting on her porch watching for the mailman. She had her raincoat and umbrella all ready. Its great how getting cards in the mail has put such a sparkle in her eye and more pep in her step. Thanks again to each of you. You really made her day.

Bud, the iguana has gotten lazy on me. He usually goes down his tree and uses the bathroom in the bottom corner of his house. The other day he was laying on his heating pad and watching me fill his food bowl. He seemed to just look and smile at me and then pooped on his pad. He then got up and moved over waiting on me to clean it up. I put a clean cover on his pad and he then walked back over and laid down. He did this again today. He seems to just smile at me as if to say I know you will clean it up and I don't have to climb down the tree. Think he has me trained.

He is in heaven with his heating pad and heat lamp and doesn't want to leave long enough to potty.

Mommy Kitty and Baby Kitty have decided my stack of picnic baskets is the perfect place to take naps or just rest. I finally put a towel down so it would be softer for them. I already have a small blanket on the organ for baby kitty as she likes to sleep on the keys. They pick strange places to rest.

Its suppose to be in the 40's at night this weekend. I am looking forward to having a small fire in the evenings to knock the chill off. That means I can keep the kettle warming on top of the wood stove for cups of tea and hot chocolate. I just love cool and cold weather!

Hope each of you have a wonderful weekend. Don't forget to count your blessings no matter how small.

Its starting to look and feel like fall around here. We are having a little rain and its cooling down. A busy day here. I can't seem to catch up on things around here. I am working on Ms. Fran's scrapbook. I am putting her cards in so she can have them handy to look at anytime she wants. I am trying to get soap made and candles poured. Just the same ole same ole around here. William has a fellow trucker friend named Jerry. Jerry had parked in a truckstop the other night and next morning he heard a noise like a hose leak under his hood. He looked but didn't see anything. He drove for awhile and stopped to eat and heard the noise again but again didn't find anything. He drove on again for several hours and stopped. He again heard the noise and started looking even harder so he could find the problem and take his truck in to be fixed. He found a baby kitten sitting on his fuel tank. The kitten was covered in oil and grease so Jerry took it inside the truckstop and gave it a bath in the sink. The kitten had a few cuts and scrapes but seemed okay. Jerry bought some kitten food and liter and now has a trucking pet riding with him. He says it sits in his lap and sleeps while he drives and curls up beside him when he sleeps. I hope he will send photos so we can see his new truck buddy!

I Got Mail!

I got a sweet package from Night Owl and Sandy. Seems these ladies had made up gifts for the Blog reunion and since I didn't get to go they mailed mine! Thank you so much Barb for mailing and for the card. I also got a thank you card from all the ladies at the blog fest I missed. I had sent them some of Ms. Diva's soaps and each one wrote the sweetest note. Thank you ladies and I hope I can meet all of you next year.

I am hoping to have a blogger slumber party weekend in Feb. Maybe I can meet some of you then.

We finally got a few showers of rain today. Not near enough but it was nice and even enjoyed the thunder and lighting. The ducks and geese spent the day playing in mud puddles and the goats spent the day in their stalls as they didn't want to get wet. I spent the day in the soap building and am almost caught up.

Fran Says Thank You

Fran called me Saturday to say she didn't get any mail and I reminded her that she wouldn't get cards everyday. Today she called to tell me she got 5 cards and she was so thrilled. I went over to see the cards and to take a picture of her with them. She keeps saying how nice "those" people are to take the time to write her such sweet notes. She has the cards on her end table and I promised I would make her a scrapbook with all her cards in it so she can look at them anytime she wants. She ask me to tell everyone thank you very much. She thinks you all are very nice and special people and would love to meet each of you to say thank you in person. I also want to say thank you. Fran has that spark back in her eyes. She is getting out and watching for the mailman and walking to the mailbox. She has something to look forward to each day. Some of you ask if you could still send cards. You can send as many as often as you like. She loves the cards and will never get tired of looking at them.
Thanks again for taking time for a very special friend.

Christmas Stocking Swap

William took his grandson Will on a all weekend boyscout camping trip. William's son Ray and his son Wayne met them there and from everything I heard they had a great time. While they were gone I cleaned the inside of the semi, did William's laundry, raked the pens, made some soap and cleaned house. William came home today in time to trim the goats hooves, unpack and put away all the camping gear, pack his truck and head for Oregon. This has been a busy few days. One really bright spot of the weekend was meeting Deb, Russell and their daughters Abby and Sara. I had never met them in person even though they live in the area. Deb and I met in the blog neighborhood so it was really wonderful meeting her and her family in person. The girls fed the rabbits and goats carrots and visited with all the animals. We enjoyed their visit and look forward to them coming back as they want to learn to milk!!

Mommy Kitty and Baby Kitty are getting really spoiled around here. I think they are here to stay unless I find a really good home for them.
I am doing the Christmas stocking swap again this year. If you want to join the swap leave a comment. I will give everyone their partner November 3rd. The stocking can be handmade, store bought or one of your own that you have left from past Christmas'. Fill the stocking with items that you think your swap partner might enjoy. The price limit is $10.oo but you can fill it with handmade items, baked goodies, etc. You don't have to purchase items. I will try to give partners of the same country so you won't have to pay alot on shipping. You have to get your stocking mailed in time for your partner to receive it before Christmas. Hope you will join us! Last years stocking swap was lots of fun.

NC State Fair Part Three

Of course we had to stop and check out the big boy toys.

And the perfect ending as we were walking back to our van.

NC State Fair Part Two

After the rides and games we headed over to check out the animals. The cows were huge! I told William they looked like they were on steroids.

The rest of the photos will be on part three.

NC State Fair Part One

Take one grandpa that is weak from a stomach virus, one grandma that is starting to get said stomach virus and one energetic grandson you get a very tiring visit to the fair. We stopped and rested several times but we had fun and got to see most of the fair. We saw crafters of yesteryear.

We saw things used in yesteryear that I wish I had to use now. Took a lot of energy to drag William away from the tractors. We rested while Will rode some of the rides and played some of the games.Blogger says enough photos in this post so will do a part two.

Honey Do Honey Sick

William made it home and after talking with Fran for a few minutes got right to work on his honey do list. My van now has new brakes. His pick up now has new brakes.

And my van now has a big dent in it!
Under the dirt (there is a drought here so good excuse for not washing the van) is tree bark and a dent. William told me to get in and move the van so he could start on the pickup. He forgot to tell me to pump the brake before I used it! I was backing up and couldn't stop. The tree helped me. LOL Now William has a stomach bug. He has been up and down all night and Northern Tissue is his best friend. He has been having chills and fever so think we might be staying home tonight and my day trip to Savannah cancelled. Ms. Fran calls or comes over everyday to tell me about her cards. She is so happy! She sits on her porch and watches for the mailman everyday. I am going to take a picture of her and her cards later today or tomorrow. Thank everyone so much! You really made a sweet lady very happy.
