Apparently it's up in the Canberra area...
ReplyDeleteyes I heard that...I hope everyone is ok..geesh...maybe the will blow here peggy;)
ReplyDeleteIt is actually in Queensland.
ReplyDeleteThe most powerful cyclone to cross the north Queensland coast in 20 years is continuing to cause havoc as it moves west.
The core of the category 5 Cyclone Larry crossed the coast near Innisfail, around 7:00am AEST, with wind speeds of 290 kilometres an hour.
The news tonight showed tremendous devastation, but those who live up there are tough and are fighters. Unfortuantely there is another cyclone heading towards to coast and should hit in the next day or two, unless prayers are answered and it blows itself out.
ReplyDeleteWe might live the opposite end of the country, but out prayers are with those who are coping with the loss of homes and businesses.
7:58 pm Brisbane Queensland Australia.... all ok as it is in northern part of the state and we are at the most southerly.. but have heard that another is on its way from the very same starting point though a bit bigger than the first! We are getting strong winds right now and tides are quite impressive. I have a wee little map on my blog if you like!
ReplyDeleteI saw the news too, and wondered about our blogging Aussie friends. Thanks for asking Peggy, you saved me from asking....
ReplyDeletep.s. by the way did you get your little extra just because card from me?
ReplyDeleteQueensland is the north-east part of our great land Down Under. They tell the rest of us they are Beautiful one day, Perfect the next. Well, cyclones are not my idea of beautiful OR perfect! Just as well the Commonwealth Games are being held in Melbourne at the moment - as far south as you can get before crossing the sea to our southern-most state of Tasmania...now there is a truly beautiful place.
ReplyDeleteI tried to post yesterday but blogger was having menopausal moment.
ReplyDeleteI am ok Peggy - thanks for caring xoxo. I am situated between Nicole & Gina.
I have to agree with Gina - Tasmania is a truly beautiful place - sweet Kali lives there.
I actually think most of Australia is covered somehow with our blog communities except for South Australia and Northern Territory.
I'm here too! I live not far from Nicole, and the weather here is just a bit windy and overcast.
ReplyDeleteI'm praying for all who live up North though. We will have no bananas in Australia soon, as 90% are grown in North QLD and have been flattened!!
better late than never ~ I'm still here too!
