This blog is a journal of the simple living on a small 2 and a half acre farm. The ups and downs. The good and the not so good. Adventures of Hidden Haven animals and some of my own. The sharing of our frugal, hardworking, attempt to be as self sufficient as possible. Please stop by often as we love company!

I have been doing my fall cleaning. The time will soon be here when I will have to close the windows and doors and no longer be able to smell the wonderful outdoors flowing inside. I decided it was time to put away my lavender and get out the apple and cinnamon potpourri. I filled all my simmering pots with this wonderful mixture. I tied cinnamon sticks with colorful ribbons and laid them around the house. I mixed up a batch of Russian tea and put in a vintage jar to sit on the counter so I can have it handy when the kettle is hot. Now that it is cooler I am getting in the mood to bake. That will have the house filled with wonderful smells. Time to air the quilts and get them ready for the cool nights. Soon it will be time to trim back the flowers and plants and get the flower beds ready for a long winters nap. Though I have tons of projects to keep me busy indoors this fall and winter I also have a stack of books that I am looking forward to reading by the fire each evening. Did I tell you I love Fall?

Oh I love this time of year too! I can almost smell all the scents... mmmm. I love it for all the same reasons... I love the smell and color of the leaves and everything! :)
Hi Peggy, I've been here daily, but haven't left a comment for awhile. I love what you are doing with the page, and like you, I LOVE AUTUMN...everything about it...the blaze of glory that our hardwood trees become, the lonesome call of the Canadian geese as they trek south, the delicious nip of morning air as our whole world sparkles with a heavy dew. The sun seems to have it's own special color, as does the sky in Sept, and October. Oh yes, life is good in autumn in the midwest...Hugs for a lovely lady..*VBS*
You sound so cozy at your place = )
