Maple Halloween Moons


Here is a great cookie recipe to have on fright night.

Maple Halloween Moons
3/4 c. Butter (softened) 1 (3oz) pkg cream cheese (softened)
1c. Firmly packed brown sugar 1 tsp. Maple flavoring
2 1/4 c. All-purpose flour 1/2 tsp. Baking soda
combine butter and cream cheese in large bowl, beat at medium speed until creamy. Add brown sugar and flavoring and continue beating till smooth. Reduce speed to low, add flour and baking soda. Continue beating til well mixed. Cover and refrigerate until firm (30min) Heat oven to 350degrees. Shape dough into 1"balls. Roll each ball into a 3" rope. Place onto cookie sheets. Form ropes into crescent shapes. Pinch ends and flatten middle slightly. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until edges are lightly brown. Cool 1 minute. Remove from cookie sheets; place on wire racks over waxed paper. Cool Completely.
1 1/2 c powdered sugar 1 1/2 tsp maple flavoring
3 to 5 tsp water 2/3 c semi-sweet chocolate chips
(melted)
Combine sugar, maple flavoring and enough water for desired drizzling consistency in small bowl with wire wisk until smooth. Drizzle of cooled cookies and then drizzle melted chocolate. Let stand until chocolate sets.
