War Between the Cats and a Squirrel
I was in the kitchen minding my own business when I see Whiskers walking across the yard with something in his mouth. Whatever it was was fighting to get free. Before I can get to the door Precious jumps Whiskers so she can steal whatever he has. He was startled and dropped his catch. It was a squirrel! Well with 2 cats in the doorway the squirrel chooses to run the other way which is inside my house. The cats don't want to loose the catch of the day so they both are in hot pursuit. Pictures are knocked off the wall, things on the table are flying, mail on the counter is scattered allover the floor. I am trying to catch the cats to put them outside but can't. I finally grab a broom and get between the cats and the squirrel and start shooing the squirrel off my curtains and toward the door. He finally makes a break for it and I slam the door to keep the cats inside. The cats give me a look that tells me I had better not close my eyes when I go to sleep or they will pay me back for letting their squirrel loose. The squirrel is in the tree by the deck and if I could understand squirrel talk I think I would be very afraid! Kinda reminds me of that old song by Ray Stevens about the squirrel that got loose in church. All I know is if you don't see me around the blog.... It was the cats or squirrel that got me!

Hey there! I found your blog on the Etsy ring. But I cant find the link anywhere on your page to look at the person next in the ring. :(
Well, you certainly had an adventure today anyway.
Now that's something we don't have over here. I've never seen one before in my life...
oh, I am just about falling of my chair with laughter. (I was going to say cacking myself but wasnt sure what that phrase means over there!) I too remember the scene in Christmas vacation.
I saw a squirrel in New York when I stayed there a few years ago.It was sitting on my friends deck..so cute. They didnt think so at all ..do they carry rabies?
HEHEHEHEHE!! I wish I had been there to help the kitties!
Hilarious! I sent your blog address to my son who has a thing about squirrels and cats.
Now I gotta go ck up on Norm...haven't done that in a few days so need to know what he is up to.
OMG.. that is a HOOT .. im going to send the squirl addy to my Hubby and MIL's email .. they will get a kick out of it
They still think it was the squirels who stole my Husbands Bowling Ball out of their Garage *LOL*
Peggy, you are a great storyteller ~ I loved it! My kitties watch the squirrels through the rv window and I think sometimes the squirrels stick their tongues out at them! Love the picture...
Oh I'm so happy for Mr. Squirrel! Don't you hate that! I swear, trying to keep my cats in this spring has been murder! There are so many young things out there (so naive) that they are easy prey this time of year. Miss Bev is driving me crazy!! She can hear the little chirps of the baby birds on both porches!
Oh, my gosh! The thought of the cats and the squirrels barrelling around the house had me laughing. As a fellow small-holder, I can certainly relate to animal antics. I'm enjoying your blog, especially the one on shining your light.
