Saturday, What a Day

Of course its still hot and humid around here. I keep drooling over my keyboard when I visit my friends blogs that are talking about their winter weather and posting such lovely pictures. But soon I will be doing the same and they will be roasting in their summer weather! The chickens and Miss Diva all have clean pens, stalls, nesting boxes, etc. The peacocks have decided they like sitting on the roof of the hen house and looking down on their royal subjects. I took all some veggie scraps and pieces of watermelon and noticed Miss Diva walking funny. Seems her hoofs grew over night! She needed a pedicure right away and of course being a diva she isn'tgoing to take it like a lady. Needless to say I have one hoof (the one that really needed it) done except for filing a little more. She would not let me trim any of the others no matter how many treats I gave her! My handy dandy raising goats book said to let it go and just do one every day or so till they were all done. Something tells me this is going to be a long time in getting done. I even told her I would paint her hoofs a nice hot pint if she would hold still. She gave me a look that didn't leave anything to the imagination on what she was thinking about that! I came back inside and worked on soaps. I made a batch of pumpkin harvest that smells so much like fall of the year. A batch of Christmas Magic, batch of cranberry and a batch of bayberry. At least I can pretend its getting fall and winter by smelling goats milk soap all night! Time for a shower and a glass of ice tea. Night All

Well at least you can "Pretend" with the smells and fragrances that it is cooler!! Here in Ga. it will take awhile for it to cool off. Maybe another month or so!!
I bet Miss Diva would look good with Pink TOES!!

I've loved visiting your site today Peggy. All of the canning, the visit with Miz Fran and the June Carter Cash video all made me happy and reminded me of growing up watching the Grand Ole Oprey with my grandma. She canned the best vegetable soup and made jams and jellies. I think you would've liked her very much.
Thank you for the nice visit.

Peggy you asked if my husband learned anything from his prayer breakfast...well yes he did learn a lot!! He even called me after the breakfast to tell me that he loved me and that he had learned a lot!! He said that he learned that we women needed security (DUH)..I have been trying to tell him that for almost 43 years now and then he went into more details that I already knew!! At least he got to hear what I have been trying to say from a man this time!! smile!! I wish he could go to something like this about once a month to get it back into his head..his sweet little MANLY head!!! Thanks for asking and again for visiting!! Hope you have a great Sunday...
