Fran called me Saturday to say she didn't get any mail and I reminded her that she wouldn't get cards everyday. Today she called to tell me she got 5 cards and she was so thrilled. I went over to see the cards and to take a picture of her with them. She keeps saying how nice "those" people are to take the time to write her such sweet notes. She has the cards on her end table and I promised I would make her a scrapbook with all her cards in it so she can look at them anytime she wants. She ask me to tell everyone thank you very much. She thinks you all are very nice and special people and would love to meet each of you to say thank you in person. I also want to say thank you. Fran has that spark back in her eyes. She is getting out and watching for the mailman and walking to the mailbox. She has something to look forward to each day. Some of you ask if you could still send cards. You can send as many as often as you like. She loves the cards and will never get tired of looking at them.
Thanks again for taking time for a very special friend.

Well, that's good news. I think I sent her one and commented on it that it would probably be the only card she gets from "Abraham Lincoln."
She might get a laugh out of that but it is true.
I am so glad it worked out for her and am glad she enjoys looking for the mail.
Thanks.
I see the card I sent! Glad she got it, I was late ib=n sending it. Perhaps, people might include a photo the next time.
What a sweetheart. She looks so tickled sittin' there among her cards!!!
I have a card all ready to go to the mailbox. I'm so glad she enjoys them. I can probably do something else for her. I will be sure to put Fran on my Christmas card list as well. If everyone does that, Fran will be getting lots of mail. Thanksgiving cards or Halloween cards could also be send.
Thanks for giving Fran the card shower. I can see the sparkle in her eyes.
Have a great week.

Wow, The difference between the picture of Fran when card shower was suggested and this one is amazing. It looks like she took a deep breath. The sparkle is back. I will send another card today.
I sent a copy of your post on Fran to my daughters third grade teacher. They are in the middle of a writing unit for personal letters. I hope her teacher picks it up and runs with it. If not I'll do the same with the kids at our Sunday school class.
Peace
That is so sweet! I see my card there with the tulip on it. :) Thanks for sharing a pic.
I will also be sure and send a Thanksgiving and Christmas card. We don't celebrate Halloween but I could send her a Happy Fall card. :)
Awwwww look at her face, that's pure joy if I've ever seen it!! Just goes to show how something as simple as cards can make a person have a reason to live and look forward to the next day:-) I will send her another one next week with postcards! xox
That is too sweet, I just love the joy on her face, please let me know her address and I will send her some cards too!
