Weekend with Grandma

Weekends with me aren't all fun and games. Before breakfast they had to take care of the animals.
After breakfast everyone has to wash their own plate, glass, etc.
But that's not all! We had to make laundry detergent so we could wash the clothes. They soon found out it wasn't as easy as they thought washing clothes in the washtubs. Finally it was time to have some fun! Making soaps

Making candles.

Playing with the dogs.

Swinging on the tire swing.

Swinging in the hammock

Goofing off at the mall.

Riding bikes

Playing games on the computer

Playing games.

Playing with the neighborhood kids

Shooting cans with pellet guns.

And still finding time to rake leaves for grandma..even if we do jump in them!

The photos with the wrong dates on them are from my daughters camera. Forgive her (she's a blonde LOL)

Beautiful photo essay. I remember doing all those things as a kid, plus mucking stalls and splitting wood. Thanks for the trip down Memory Lane. Looks like you had a great time.

Please adopt me. LOL you have the perfect home for kids. They get the responsibility of doing chores but get to have fun and stay busy. I bet they didn't complain about boredom while they were with you!

Would you have made ME do all those chores if I had stopped by last weekend Peggy, ha! ha!? Actually it looked wonderful - those children are blessed to have a Grandma who does so much with them and teaches the true meaning of life.

Off to England this evening - direct flight Raleigh to Gatwick on American's 777 - a great aircraft and about 8 hours flying time - hopefully after two Tylenol PM I'll sleep a bit!!

Visit my blog and you'll see where I'm staying!

Take care - enjoy this fine North Carolina Autumn weather.
Hugs - Mary.
