I am still here. Just have been so busy with soap orders. Wanting to get everyone orders out in time for Christmas. I usually have my trees up and house decorated by now and I have nothing done. We had a nice Thanksgiving dinner. William made it home and we had our two new farmhands over to eat with us. It takes time and patience to teach them how to feed and milk and I have little of both at the moment. The kitchen is still a war zone and I had to do battle in it to cook Thanksgiving dinner. I almost want to take a stick of dynamite to it and just finish it off for good. The cabinets are almost done. The microwave shelf above the stove needs painting. Where you see the canisters is where I hope my shelves get built tomorrow. Also have shelves waiting to be built up another wall. Top of my counters need to be sanded and finished. Floor needs to be put down and alot of small things. I go behind Wayne putting things away where he finishes. He knows I will have a overflowing house of guest in 3 weeks and needs to work fast . I am stressing it won't get done.

Fran has fallen twice at the nursing home. They had a bed alarm that would go off if she tried to climb over the rails so she got smart and scooted to the bottom of the bed to get out. Her legs are still weak so she can't stand alone very long. She fell and hit her head so they put a body alarm on her and now when she moves in bed it goes off all the time. She is upset and so am I. I offered to bring her here and take care of her but they want to give it another week there and then take her home and have home health come help her. William and I plan on going to see her tomorrow or the next day. Her daughter that lives in New Mexico is flying in Wednesday to help take care of her so maybe she will bring Fran home. Please keep her in your prayers. I am so afraid she is going to fall and break something. I promise to post more tomorrow and hopefully a more cheerful post. Have a great week and lets not forget to count our blessings no matter how small they may seem. The handswen sampler you see above the cabinet is the one I won from Rhonda Jean. She made it herself and was so kind to offer it as a give away on her blog. It gives me strength each time I look at it. I am so thankful I was the lucky winner! sorry the photo didn't turn out good. I should have turned off my flash.

I'll be right over! I WISH!! Oh sis, I can see why you're stressing over everything at the moment...having a kitchen renovated this time of year is enough to make you pull all your hair out...ummmm hope you haven't done that?? lol I think a lot of us aren't blogging as much, too much going on with the Christmas preparations. I can't even imagine how busy you're being with the soap making, the animals,etc...it's no wonder you haven't had time to decorate yet. But, we always manage, don't we. What a little minx Ms, Fran is, trying to sneak out of bed...but you're right, putting a body alarm on her is a bit over the top. My prayers continue to be with her. You take care of yourself and know that I'm thinking of you!! xox

My husband is a geritrician and works a good deal with rehab and nursing home patients. He reccomends that you have the facility do one of two things: have someone get her up at least every 90 minutes and walk with her or allow her to use a Merry Chair. This allows her some personal freedom of movement.

Hope she is able to come home soon!

Peggy,

I will keep Miz Fran in my prayers, as always. I'm sure she just wants to get up and around so she can come home.

Love the sampler. Congratulations on winning it.

Blessings,
Mary

Everything looks like it is coming together! Your cabinets look great and that sample is so very nice! You'r a lucky lady to win that!
I will keep Ms. Fran in my prayers, I know what it is like in a nursing home, I work in one. It is so hard for someone like Ms. Fran to give up her Independance but, hopefully it is only for a short time until she gets stronger and can work her way back to her own home. She is very lucky to have such a careing friend like you to look after her! You are an Angel with hidden wings but your halo is shining brightly!

Hi Peggy, Sounds like it is a very high stress time for you now.
Dont overdo things or you will get sick, & that will never do!

Still sending good wishes for Ms Fran.
Don't forget to take time for you.

Howdy Peggy! Just wanted to let ya know I just sent my stocking partner her stocking! wanted to send a thank you your way for doing the swap! I have had a blast!
I send prayers to Fran, I used to work in nursing homes and home health, it's not an easy job, and my heart broke daily for some folks. So I understand from both sides!

Hi Peggy. It's wonderful to see the stitchery in your kitchen. It made me smile to see it there. Say hello to Fran for me. What a lovely granddaughter she has. Hugs.

Hi Peggy, when your kitchen is finished , you will wish it had been done sooner... it will look great..I feel so sorry for Ms. Fran... It is bad when you need to get up at night and no one comes to your aid...She needs to go back home and have help for her there... She would sleep and rest better in her own bed..Give her my regards... Take care of yourself.

I guess my comment got lost somewhere out there the first time. Thanks for the sneak peak at the kitchen...you have great style. Oh poor Ms. Fran...I'm sure she is finding the situation really frustrating. I'm praying she gets to come home. Your sampler is adorable!
