Birthday Surprises

Saturday a package arrived at my back door. I was so excited I didn't take a photo of the beautiful wrapping and packaging so just take my word for it. Pea outdid herself ! I love the perfume decanter. It is so delicate and beautiful. I have it sitting on my antique dressing table and it just fits right in perfectly. The tea candle stand is right next to my computer desk so I can see it every day and think of my special adopted Sis. The rooster canister is right at home on my kitchen island! Leave it to my dear Sis to know exactly what to send to make my birthday special. I especially love the card she sent with the gifts. That really touched my heart and brought tears to my eyes. Pea never had a sister and my sister passed away in 1976 so since we have so many things in common we adopted each other and I am very blessed to have her as my Sis! Thank you Pea so very much for bringing smiles, comfort and love into my day. Fran's granddaughters Debra and Kathrine gave me a beautiful picture of Fran taken 2 months before her stroke. I have it sitting on my dining room table for now so I see it each time I pass in or out the back door or into the kitchen or hallway. I love being able to see the sparkle in her eyes and the smile on her face. That was the way she always was until her stroke.
I was ask by the family to write the obituary for the newspaper. I feel very honored to do this for such a special lady. I have written it over and over in my head but tonight I will do my best to put on paper all the wonderful things about a wonderful lady's life. Being given the honor of doing this is a special gift in itself.

Ms. Fran could not have had a dearer friend than you Peggy, and even now that she has passed you are still reaching out and being there to help all remember her.

Thank you for allowing us to share the journey - how wonderful it would be if each of us could have someone as dear as you to help us when our time comes. It would certainly make it less frightening.

Bless you for all you did for Ms. Fran and her family. Sorry your Birthday came on that same sad day - hopefully you were able to enjoy it later. Belated best wishes and many happy returns.

It is a very great honour to help someone die a peaceful death. May all of us have this choice to die with dignity in the manner of our own choosing, as much as we are able to make these decisions. I am sure this was a happy/sad birthday for you and my wish is that your memories of the day will be gentle ones. Our world seems so callous to the infirm, elderly or anyone dying...I hope when my time comes there is someone like you to hold my hand and ease my transition from this world.

I, too, would like to read the obituary that you write for Fran. If you are not able to post it then perhaps a link to the newspaper it is published in?

May your family, friends and farm rally to uplift your spirits if you find them flagging at this time.

Sincerely, a blog friend from Canada

Hi Peggy,
I forgot to say Happy Birthday to you so here's a belated "HAPPY BIRTHDAY"! What beautiful things from your Sis. Pea is such a special person!

I do hope you will share the obituary with us. I'm sure you will do a great job because it will come from your heart. I finally got my post up today about Ms. Fran.

Love and prayers,
Hope

When I hear of stories like Fran and how she entered into eternity, I keep thinking this is how it is supposed to be. No drugs to cloud her mind so that when she opened her eyes she knew you. I realize that many are in horrid pain and need the drugs, so I am not saying they are wrong. I know you will do a wonderful job on the obit. God bless you and not only have you received from Fran, but you have added crowns in heaven for yourself. I love the picture of her.

Your gift from Pea is wonderful.

Peggy,

Pea sent you lovely gifts. I especially like the rooster canister.

You did a great job of writing Fran's obituary and I love the photo of her before her stroke. Those blue eyes twinkle like the stars. I'm glad you have this delightful keepsake.

Blessings,
Mary
