Ms. Fran

Ms Fran's daughter is arriving today from New Mexico along with 2 of her granddaughters. One from GA. and the other from FL. Ms. Fran wanted to look nice for their visit so Debra (granddaughter) washed and rolled her hair for her and this morning I brushed it out and sprayed it so she would be all ready for their visit. As you can tell from the photo Fran is no longer smiling. She is only taking bites of food when given her medication. And only very few sips of any liquids during the day. The food, liquids and sleep are the only things she can control. She went from a very active lady to having to have someone feed her, change her, put her to bed, get her up, bathe her, etc. It is not the way Fran wants to live. She has said that the Lord has been to visit her several times the past week and she is going home soon. I think she is waiting to see her daughter and granddaughters. William and I have talked with her other daughters and granddaughters and they know she is wanting to give up life here and move on. Its very hard for them and they even considered putting her into the hospital and having a feeding tube put it. Ms. Fran has a living will and its not something she wants so they agreed to abide by her wishes even though its breaking their hearts. Please keep Fran in your thoughts and prayers that she will have a easy passing. Keep her family in your thoughts and prayers. I know personally how hard it is to say goodbye to parents and know they are going through a lot of emotional, stressful times. Ms. Fran still has her sense of humor and told us this morning she was going to Magnolia. And when ask if she was going looking for a man she replied "I just might do that!". When William asked her a question last night and then kept talking she told him to hush so she could answer him. Made us all laugh including a small one from her. She is telling everyone how much she loves them and thanking them for all they have done. I think Fran is wrapping up things here on earth and looking forward to being with her husband and family members waiting on the other side. She is a very wonderful, kind, loving, devoted, remarkable lady that I am proud to have for a friend and neighbor. I will do everything I can to help her tie up her loose ends and make her comfortable till she begins her next journey.

What an awsome woman and family you are. I went through this with my first client. he was making things ready and said he wanted to go home. His wife was holding him here so bad. He also took sips and even the bites stopped. one day he started to cry..I think he had seen Jesus because he held up his arms and cried I wanna go. She held him and said I don't want you to but if your ready and Jesus comes then you go. A few days later he was gone. Such peace I have never felt or saw on a mans face. We felt the pain, but he was home.
I will pray for all of you and thanks for being a peson with such love.

Thanks for relating this story, Peggy. I always think it is amazing and wise when folks are ill and know they are near the end. I think they often know a lot more than we give them credit for ... things that we might not be able to understand. You're a great friends and neighbor.

What a blessing you are to Fran and her family...I know you must really want to scream..."don't go"...but you know...it isn't where her heart is...and that it really isn't our choice. How comforting it has to be even when it is so sad...to know she looks forward to her new journey. I am so afraid...the selfish side of me would have so much trouble carrying out her wishes...but that is what must be done...eh? So sorry her life has just done a complete turn around...makes you realize how fragile life can be.

Again, bless you for being there for all of them...I know this will not be easy. Sending you all hugs and prayers.

blessings...
Teresa

My thoughts go out to Ms. Fran and her family and friends. It seems when the elderly decide it's time to go they make peace with everything and tie up loose ends, so to speak. I often remember a friend who worked in a nursing home and one of her patients who often said, "I'm waiting for my celestial promotion." I like looking at it like that and I will be thinking of you all. Donna

I've said it before and I'll say it again. God love her!

Mrs. Fran knows what she's doing. I firmly believe that.

I've buried my father and my mother is now in her mid 70's. Not a day goes by that I don't think of her time coming and dread it more than words can express. Thank God that he reaches down and comforts us right when we are at our lowest, saddest point. I don't know what Mrs. Fran would have done without you, and I don't what any of us would do without our comforting Heavenly Father in times such as this. Peace, be still. XOXO

Ms Fran can't want to live the way she is now. She's a wise woman who knows her time has come and is at peace.
You have been a wonderful friend and neighbour and, with her family, must let her go in peace....

I'm catching up on reading your posts Peggy. You have a bunch of babies to take care of now!! They are all so cute!!

I'm sorry to hear that Ms. Fran isn't doing so well. It does sound like she is preparing to leave. I hope that she doesn't have to suffer. What a lovely lady. She will make a beautiful angel.

My thoughts are with you and your lovely neighbour, Ms Fran. When she was in the hospital you wrote that she was afraid. I am glad she is no longer afraid and you are supporting her with her grace and dignity in tact.

I love visiting your blog, and am saddened to see that Ms Fran is no longer smiling. I hope that she will find comfort, and that the relatives and friends will find comfort, too. She is fortunate to have you for a friend and neighbor. Many prayers and blessings, Trudy

Mrs Fran's family will have peace in the future, knowing Mrs Fran had the chance to tie up her loose ends and say good-bye to those she loved. As we grow older, the better I understand "quality" of life as opposed to "quantity" of life. This must be difficult for you, as it would be saying good-bye to anyone we hold dear, I hope you are assured that you are helping this lady choose the manner of her leaving with what dignity she has left. May peace be with you during this difficult time...but knowing hers was a life lived as per her choice. It is as much as any of us can hope for - a caring individual who is there to guide the final process and ensure our wishes are met.

What a beautiful lady you are! Ms Fran is radiant...I am holding her up for a sweet passing on to her new life with our Lord. You and your family are God's angels on earth.

Rosa sent me over here. I have a pregger goat ready to deliver her first kids. My farm-man will be out of town and I guess I'm nervous about it. Rosa said you know all about goats...now I think I have "met' you. I bought some of your wonderful soaps on etsy! They are the best goat milk soaps I have ever tried. God Bless and keep you. Jenny

Please tell Ms Fran to tell Jesus, "hi" for me....What an awesome thing to experience Jesus coming for you. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me."
Dance on Fran!!!!!!
Loving thoughts and prayers,
Diane
