SweetPea

Sweet Pea passed away last evening. She spent the day inside yesterday as we had storms all day. She had a really good day, ate well, and would walk around crying if she didn't see me. After a long nap I stood her on her pad while I fixed her bottle. When I came back into the room she had what looked like a seizure and fell over. She died in my arms a few minutes later. I know she is a animal and living on a farm I should be use to animals dying. I'm not. She was very precious and very loved. She had her own sweet little ways about her. SweetPea will be missed .

To those that left diagnosis comments and emails when I posted about her being sick: SweetPea was up todate on her vaccines and worming. The Vet did xrays and labwork. SweetPea had problems that started by not having room or nourishment in her mothers womb. If you have more diagnosis please keep them to yourself today. SweetPea is gone and I just don't want to read them.

Wish I was there with you to hold you in comfort, Sis. I cried so much last night after I read your email...my greatest comfort is that you gave her so much love while she was alive. Animals sure have a way of getting into our hearts, don't they! Love you Sis. xoxo

From Corky Wolf,

Peggy, I am so sorry!

I really do know exactly how you feel.
I have been there twice so far with baby goats.
Later, you will get over the hurt enough to thank God for letting you know her for the time she had and that she did not suffer but had fun, thanks to you, till the end.
Good job!

I just read about Sweet Pea over at Pea's Corner and just wanted to stop by and tell you how sorry I am that she is no longer with you. As an animal lover myself I know how heartbroken you must be. Take care.

Bless your heart Peggy. Words just don't seem to be enough in a situation like this. When these little critters walk into your heart and take up residence there it hurts every bit as much to loose them as it does to loose the human critters.

I hold you in my heart and prayers Peggy while you deal with the loss of your Sweet Pea.

Iam so sorry about Sweet Pea. She was such a sweetie and even tho she was here for such a short time she has left a hole in your heart. Ignore the "arm chair veterinarians" as they weren't there. People seem to have the need to advise. Again Iam sorry for your loss.

Peggy - I'm so sorry about Sweet Pea. I know her loss must be really tough, but I hope you'll take some comfort in knowing that Sweet Pea clearly knew how loved she was, and what a happy, comfortable home she had, and how well taken care of she was. Bless you Peggy, and Sweet Pea too.

I'm so sorry for your loss of little Sweet Pea. I used to have goats and loved each one for her own unique personality. I can't even imagine how sad it must be to lose a dear little one.

Hiho, I found you at Pea's blog.

Our condolences on losing your kid.

My little girls started 4-H last year and my then 6 year-old, Silly-Head, got a Nubian kid. She was sweet and bossy and spoiled (the goat, that is), but she never grew "right" and one day she passed away. We were afraid that Silly-Head would be traumatized (I certainly was!) but she just shrugged and said, "I like Nubians. Is there another Nubian I can train instead?" So she got another and all was well.

Me? I still get a little misty when I see pics of the kid she lost!

(PS. This year she has a Saanen - much easier to work with, but not nearly as much character!)

Although I've never posted, I've been reading about Sweetpea.
We lost a small one like Sweetpea a few years ago, and I know that it is a difficult thing to go through.

I'm so sorry for the heartbreak you are feeling; I loved reading about SweetPea. I don't think we can ever get used to losing the animals we love whether we live on a farm with lots of animals or in the city with one small pet. SweetPea's life was precious and worthy of your love.

I'm so sorry, Peggy. I understand how the death of a loved animal can be so heartbreaking. Do take time and care, and look after yourself.

Peggy,

I'm new to this blog and I just love it. What a loving, wonderful mom you are to your animals! And what a great life! You are so lucky and blessed. I know SweetPea appreciated everything you did and is waiting at the "Rainbow Bridge"

Peggy, I get so attached to my animals and feel the same way. Here I am on a farm and know they can't all be pets.
I know exactly how you feel, I have been there before and no words will help until you mourn SweetPea.

Oh Peggy, I am so sorry. You did everything you could and it's just Mother Nature's way. It still breaks our heart doesn't it. Well, Sweet Pea will be your patron saint of HHH now. I'm sure you will feel a nudge from her every now and again. Big hugs my friend.
