Rest In Peace

This morning the mighty warriors found one of the bunnies had died. They built a coffin, dug a grave and prepared a service. They first wrote their "headstone" on paper till I reminded them we are going to have severe storms today and the paper one won't last. They made the next one out of wood. The mighty warriors understand that animals don't live forever. They were sad about their little bunny but after the service they went back to petting and caring for all the others ones we still have. Plus they weren't too sad as I noticed they left a Woody was here and Zack too on the paper. LOL

Not a whole lot that can be said about something so nice, other than - So sweet. That's a good looking gravesite, and a nice way to remember an animal.

funerals like this are always special but to me they are also delightful.. simple, innocent and childlike... love it all... I remember well, a funeral held by my son for his budgerigar that died.. we had a funeral procession, we sang hymns and spoke words... just a gorgeous time.

Awwwww poor little bunny. I guess it's good in a way for the grands to see that animals do die, no matter how well taken care of they are, and I think it's wonderful the compassion they already show!! xoxo

Aren't your grandsons a thoughtful lot, feeling the need for burial a ritual over a dead rabbit.

When I was their age, I was killing snakes and shooting animals out my best friends basement window. They were the only people I knew who had guns. They were from Montana. It is a wonder we did not kill each other.
If my mother ever knew she would have been horrified, as I am now.
