Busy Day

William made it home yesterday. We grilled steaks and I fixed a salad, baked potatoes and garlic cheese bread. Had a nice dinner and caught up on a few chores around here. William was feeling a little under the weather so didn't rest very well. With his getting up and down I didn't rest well either so I did something I hardly ever do. I called the hired hand and ask him to do the morning chores and I slept in. Well 8am isn't that late but it sure felt good. William left to get his tanker loaded only to come back home because that trip got cancelled. I had him trimming wicks and helping with candles while I caught up on some soap orders. He had someone that wanted to see pictures of goats so we took those and he headed to look at a farm tractor. I stayed home to finish soap orders and am waiting dinner for him. We are having cabbage cooked with polish sausage, potatoes, onions and garlic and the leftover garlic bread. The house smells like gingerbread and spiced pumpkin from the candles I poured so I am getting very hungry! Need to clean and put the eggs away and fold a load of laundry so guess I had better get moving. Hope you are having a great day!

Yay!! A goat party!! What fun we could have. This little A-frame is quite cozy...I am holed up here right now waiting out a shower...so much to do out there and we really don't need any more rain here....we are all growing mushrooms in places that should not have fungus!! LOL!

I hope you dont mind me visiting your blog. I clicked on through my friend Brendas post. I noticed that you mentioned your husband is away alot. My husband is a long haul truck driver and away mostly 4 weeks at a time. Its comforting to find other woman that can relate to the lonliness. I think your goats are great. I want a goat, but I dont think I can just put a goat in my backyard. Although I do have room:)

Your goat pictures make me want to start a small herd; maybe I'll do that in all my spare time! :)

Im so happy to meet someone that goes through the same goodbyes I do. My husband used to be a owner operator but the fuel cost and the cost of breakdowns became to much to make a living so he went back to being a company driver. Im so grateful that I recently found this blogging world.

I ordered the black tote bag gift set for my mom for Christmas. I know she will love it, my sister was raised on goat milk as a baby

Peggy,

The food sounds delicious and I am so glad you were able to sleep in for a change. I'm sorry that William isn't feeling well. Hubby has also been feeling a little under the weather. I'm loading him up with Vitamin C.

Your photos of the goats below are delightful. The boys and I sure do miss going to the farm. I'm not sure if you're aware that it closed. A real shame that all the children that went there for animal therapy are now falling through the cracks.

Take care, my friend. I enjoyed my visit, as always.

Blessings,
Mary
