Fall Weekend

This weekend will be the ending of summer and the beginning of fall. We are already having some cool nights and cooler days though I can't wait for them to get cold. The leaves are falling and if you are out in the back yard very long wear a hard hat to protect you from the acorns falling. Man do they hurt! Time to get out Diva and the other girls sweatshirts to wash and repair. When old man winter shows his head the girls like to stay nice and warm. The boys and a few of the girls grow a nice heavy winter coat for winter but Diva and Sammi don't and will stand and shiver when the wind blows. I put their sweatshirts on them in late afternoon and take them off when it warms up in the morning. Diva loves hers and will walk over when she sees I have them in my hands. Yes, its official I am a crazy old goat lady!

On a more serious note. I would like to ask you to keep my daughter Melody in your thoughts and prayers. The doctor found a lump on her breast, a spot on her kidney. She went back for more tests today. She also has had some pretty bad problems this past year that is resulting in her having to have a hysterectomy. Besides being a loving wife to Joseph she is a busy mom to 5 kids, works full time and also goes to college. She isn't complaining about all this happening to her just planning on how things will get done when she has her hysterectomy. So please take a minute to say a prayer or have good thoughts for her.

My prayers are with your daughter. Your blog is lovely. I agree with you about "candidate bashing." I remember (way back when) candidates telling the public what they would do if elected. Now all we hear is unkind things about the opposition. Aren't grandchildren wonderful!

Dear Peggy,
I love goat ladies! I will pray for your DD/family that everything is ok. What a lovely dd! I am sure she takes after the lovely goat lady she calls Mom.

Diva looks devine in her sweater! Does her "mom" having a matching one when she does her milking?

So glad I found your lovely blog and all your sweet "children."

Hugs,
Connie

Oh Peggy, how scary! God's grace blessings you and Melody's family. I know God will stay close to each one including you during this time. Even though sometimes you don't feel Him. I hope you and she take some time to read The Shack. It has done some amazing things to tweak my faith and help me realize how much I am loved by Him. I just know that as wonderful as some things are here...this world just bites sometimes. We were created for so much more than this painful life. Your daughter sounds very amazing. Please keep us updated.

Please know that you have prayers already traveling from Maine down the east coast straight for your family. May God bless each of you and keep you safe.

How frightening!

I was frantic when my middle daughter had a lump in the breast. She also had a hysterectomy but fortunately the lump was nothing. Just a cyst!!

We'll pray for good news...

I have seriously been thinking of getting a Winter coat for Heidi. As a Great Dane, I think she will find the Winter's cold. Who would have thought I would be considering dressing up an animal?

I feel so badly for Melody, her family and yourself. She possibly has some challenging days ahead.
Like you, she seems to be hard working and positive about life.
I wish her well.

I am sorry to hear about your daughter. But I can tell how you worded it that she is a strong woman. I have a question. Do the goats ever try to eat their clothes?

I will certainly pray for your daughter. She has a lot on her plate right now. I hope all goes well for her.

The goats in their sweatshirts are cute! I'll bet they are glad to have them. You are not a crazy old goat lady...you are a loving goat lady!! If I were a goat I'd want you to be my owner!
