Fred, The Weather Turkey

On last nights late news the weatherman called for rain by midnight. I actually heard thunder off in the distance as I went out to close the door on the chicken pen. But I also knew the weatherman was wrong. We wouldn't get any rain during the night. How did I know? Well Hidden Haven has its own weather forecaster and his name is Fred. We have had Fred for 2 years and he has been 100% right. If its going to rain or big drop in temperature Fred will roost inside with the chickens. If its not going to rain or have a big drop in temps during the night you will find Fred on top of the chicken house roosting. Here is where I found Fred last night.
We got through the feeding and milking this morning right as the rain started. Its suppose to rain all day and night. Fred is huddled under the laying boxes with the chickens.
Will make sure to check where he is roosting tonight. We just enjoy having our own weather turkey. When my friend Sheri and her family were visiting a few weeks ago she even watched Fred for the weather. I think our local weathermen should just check with Fred before they call for rain. They might be right more often.

Wish we had a Fred; no forecast of cold temps so we didn't cover anything. We woke up to frost!

Thanks for the music list on your blog; we listen to your tunes quite a bit!

That is so funny. Maybe you should call your weatherman and he could pay you in the evenings to look out and see what Fred is doing? He would be a weatherman who was right more than any other. It should be worth something.... =)

I just found you from Me only Different's blog.
