Monday at the Homestead

First I received an award today from Lyndia. Premio Dardos award acknowledges the values that every blogger shows in his/her effort to transmit cultural, ethical, literary and personal values every day.
The rules to follow are :
1) Accept the award, post it on your blog together with the name of the person that has granted the award and his or her blog link.
2) Pass the award to other 15 blogs that are worthy of this acknowledgment.

Here is what Lyndia had to say about nominating me: Hidden Haven Homestead because I think that Peggy's love and care for her goats is amazing, especially to someone like me who lives in a country where they are only considered as a source of food and nothing else !

Thank you so much Lyndia and for those of you reading this consider yourself nominated and carry the award back to your place. Each blog I read brings me pleasure, knowledge, friendship, or faith so I can't pick on over the other so you all get an award!

We have had rain today but its been a nice soft warm rain. Its started to look like fall. Instead of all the leaves just falling off the trees some are actually turning.

Quintin and Gabby, 2 of my grands wanted me to take pictures of their animals they have here. Quintin got to name one of Diva's bucklings last Feb. and wanted to see how Sgt. Pedro has grown. So what do you think, Quintin? We had a baby chick that the mother hen and other chicks were pecking on while Gabs was here. The little chick was bloody and didn't look like it would make it. Gabby kept it in a cage, taking care of it, loving it, playing with it and naming it Feather. Well Gabs Feathers is no longer a little chick.Diva and the girls are very upset with time change and think its all my fault. This too will pass (I hope) in a few days. Have a blessed day

A well deserved award. Quintin & Gabby are very fortunate to have so may animals to love. I think Sgt. Pedro looks great. If you get the chance, look at my crazy cat on my blog today - you more than any blog friend I know might have seen this before!!!

Time change has our critters miffed at us too. They come down and are waiting at the backdoor for their meals. You ought to see Old Man as he goes across the backyard with from 10-20 cats jumping ahead of him and trotting behind him their tails all held proudly straight up. It's a hoot!

I was just going through books that I read to mama toward the end and ran across a sweet series of children's books about farm animals by Janette Oke, a Christian author. The illustrations are so delightful. Thought you might want to take a look.

Peggy,

Time change throws everyone and everything off. I saw on the news where it takes people 5 days to get used to the time change. Why do we do this to ourselves and our beloved animals?

Love the photos. The boys and I sure miss the farm.

Blessings,
Mary
