Our Christmas Angels

While we open our gifts, enjoy our Christmas dinner, share laughter and love with our family and friends each of us think of the special one no longer with us. We remember a special moment we shared. We remember the crazy fun times we had and smile. We also remember why they are no longer with us and we are sad. Today is not a day to be sad. We are celebrating the birth of someone that has given our special one a wonderful eternal home and given us the chance to see that special one again. While celebrating today take a moment and give a prayer of thanks for that special angel watching over you with love. We may not have that special one with us in person but we are blessed with very very special angels that will always be with and watch over us.

I've had my first Christmas in Heaven

A glorious, wonderful day!
I stood with the saints of the ages,
Who found Christ, the truth and the Way.
I sang with the Heavenly choir:
Just think! I who loved to sing!
And, Oh! What celestial music
We brought to our Savior and King!
We sang the glad songs of redemption,
How Jesus to Bethlehem came,
And how they had called His name Jesus,
That all might be saved through His name.
We sang once with the angels,
The song that they spoke that blest morn
When shepherds first heard the glad story
That Jesus, the Savior, was born
O dear ones, I wish you had been here.
No Christmas on earth could compare
With all the rapture and glory
We witnessed in Heaven so fair.
You know how I always loved Christmas;
It seemed such a wonderful day,
With all of my loved ones around me,
The children so happy and gay.
Yes, now I can see why I loved it.
And Oh, what a joy it will be
When you and my loved ones are with me,
To share in the glories I see.
So, dear ones on earth, here’s my greeting,
Look up till the day dawn appears,
And Oh, what a Christmas awaits us
Beyond our parting tears.
A.S. Reitz (In loving memory of all who are spending their first Christmas in Heaven)

Each of us also have a place in our hearts and memories of that special 4 legged family member that we had to say goodbye to. But the memories of all the joy they brought us. All the love they gave unconditionally. The fun and crazy things they did to make us laugh.

Our Christmas is filled with the love of family and friends but.. Our Christmas is also filled with very special angels. What a wonderful Christmas blessing to have this Christmas Day.

Yes Peggy, Christmas is a time to remember those we love--both living and dead. I miss my mother and father so much and they have been gone for a long time. I know that they are watching over me though.

Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Hugs,
Betsy

thank you for this! it made me teary eyed because each christmas is tougher because my grandma is gone. we lost her to cancer 3 years ago and she truly was the spirit of christmas in our family. this year when i put out my christmas decorations i was reminded of her so much, the boxes of decor from her home still smelled so much like her "home smell". it made me sad, but happy to know that she is still and always will be with me.

bless you heart peggy!

Peggy,

Yes, there are special angels remembered here at Christmas. They are forever in my heart. How wonderful that your special angel was singing with the heavenly choir.

Blessings,
Mary
