While You Were Sleeping

Sonya went into labor and a very stressful night was in my cards. She had triplets. 2 boys and 1 girl. She and I are blessed she and the babies are alive and doing well. For 2 hours I cried and prayed while I was up to both elbows inside Sonya. All the babies were tangled together. After a couple of hours of labor and no babies I decided to check her. That's when I started crying. All I could feel was a head, a butt and legs but couldn't match them up. After trying for what seemed like forever I just had to walk away. I came inside and prayed that Sonya and her babies wouldn't be harmed by anything I tried to do to help. I went back out to try again. I prayed and cried while I used both hands to push all the kids as far back down the birth canal as possible. I then reached for a leg. I traced that leg to a body and got a matching leg then pulled. Sonya had a beautiful girl that was trying to nurse while I cleaned her mouth and airway. I gave her to Sonya and then went back in. Found another leg and did the same thing. It was a handsome boy that I thought was dead. After cleaning his mouth and airway he still wasn't breathing well. I hung him upside down and swung him till he started coughing. Suctioned, dried him off and handed to his mom. Went back in and brought out the most handsome Nubian buck I have ever seen. After suctioning him I dried him off and gave him to Sonya. After letting her clean them up and me drying them some more I put their sweaters on and started getting them to nurse. Each one has nursed a little bit and are now snuggled down under the heat light with their mom. After taking a much needed shower I am going to take a couple hours nap before checking on all the moms and babies and doing the morning feedings. I have photos but they will have to wait till later. If you ever doubted God answering prayers about animals.... DON'T. Without him guiding me Sonya and her babies wouldn't be here. All is well and quiet at Hidden Haven, that is until DiDi goes into labor!

Hello Peggy
You have my admiration for the love and attention you give to your animals.
Your God certainly answered your prayers - and you have certainly earned a rest.
Love to you
Cathy

So glad everything is okay. Just think how much fun you'll have this Spring watching them all run, jump and kick in the air. Can't wait to see more pictures.

Praise God, Peggy. You are a saint!!! Those specific babies will always be special (like all of them are--but maybe more so) to you... YOU --with God's help--brought these kids into the world. Praise be to God..

CONGRATS. Hope you get some rest!!
Hugs,
Betsy

I know your life is not all sweetness and light but look at the rewards!!!

I keep saying it and I'm sure I'll say it again, but I really don't know how you do what you do!!!

I don't know about God taking care of animals. My feelings on animal abuse don't seem to go with God taking care of them but I am so happy that it works for you!!

Animals are our duty to watch over, and you are doing just that Peggy!

Between you and me I really and truly believe that animals will be in heaven...or else He will provide a place for them and will have some of us to watch over them...

God answers all prayers... all...
and sometimes we don't get the answer we want...but He always answers our prayers...no matter when, how big or small, or what about!

Keep up the awesome work dear Peggy!

Love, Jess
