Busy, Busy, Busy

William has been home for a week and we have been knocking things off our to do list. Until today the weather has really been perfect for outside chores. Today its cold and rainy. I get to enjoy having a nice fire in the stove while I do inside chores. Thursday and Friday we worked in our garden. We planted broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage and 3 different kinds of onions. Our small hay barn is almost finished. It just needs the tin roof put on and then I can get the hay stacked inside and out of my way. All of our pens for the chickens, ducks, geese, dogs and goats are finished. Its actually starting to look a little less cluttered around here. This morning after chores William and I headed to the flea market and thriftstores. Found a few treasures, then stopped to buy a couple of steaks. William grilled the steaks while I made a salad, garlic cheese bread and baked potatoes. We had our Valentine meal for lunch. Now its time to get some outside chores done before feeding time. Have a wonderful weekend!

Peggy,

How fun to go with William to explore the fleamarkets and thrift stores. We haven't done that for a while.

Sounds like you've had a busy week and were able to accomplish a lot. Isn't it great to get things done. It gives us a good feeling and looks so much better.

I'm glad you've had some time to spend with William. Your lunch sounds delicious. We didn't do much yesterday. Dakota has us plum tuckered out. LOL

Blessings,
Mary

I always smile when William comes home and the two of you work together really hard until he has to go back to work for a rest.

Oh to be able to garden. The ground here is still covered with two feet of snow.

With the thaw and freezing, we just had, the snow has a crust on it. I thought I could follow Heidi walking on it only to break through up to mid thigh. I had to crawl to firmer ground. I should have used my snowshoes.

Here gardeners are starting seed in doors to be transplanted in late May early June.

We still have until around May before it is safe to start doing any planting. I love the way it feels to drop at the end of the day after checking off a lot of things on the to-do list. You just have such a feeling of accomplishment even if you are dead tired.

Have a wonderful week.
