Yesterday we finished up the rabbit cages and put a tin roof on them. We cleaned up around the cages getting ready for the today's rain.
William and some of the neighborhood kids planted some seeds and made a cold box for them. I hauled and spread mulch in the garden. I wet and lay down newspaper around the plants then spread the mulch around the plants and between the rows.
It helps keep the plant roots from burning during our HOT summers and it also makes for a weed free garden. No need to hoe or till the garden at all! I didn't mulch the radishes because when they are ready I will pull them and plant something else. I only have a fourth of the garden planted and none of the raised beds so need to get back on that. We both worked till dark on our projects and were so tired we crashed early last night. This morning we were slow getting up and moving around and we both have backaches. Old age didn't sneak up on us. It hit us square in the face! LOL Enjoy your day and count those blessings!

Your garden looks great. We planted 160 onion bulbs yesterday , so I know how you feel today. I had a few aches and stiffness this morning.

What a great idea to use wet newspaper as mulch, I never thought of that! My veggie garden and flowerbeds are still under a foot of snow so no planting for a while yet for me. lol
I can't get over how teeny that baby bunny is, wow, so precious!
It's pouring rain here and cold, just hope it doesn't turn into snow or Mother Nature will have quite the April Fool's joke on us. Love ya sis. xoxox

Your garden looks wonderful. I'm going to try a bit of container gardening this year. The boys and I usually plant tomatoes in containers, but I think we are going to try green peppers and a few other vegetables this year. They're getting too expensive to buy.
Today is more spring-like here and it's supposed to be a really nice day tomorrow. Hope your weather is the same.

I have been busy with grandkids, but I enjoyed catcing up on your blog. Do you just let the neighborhood kids hang out there? Do they help out? I would love to be a kid and get to hang out there (o: Fainting goat? is that a breed of goat? I wish i had a little more gardener in me. It is hard work that is for sure.
