Scooter and Harley
Scooter is one of Bonnie and Clyde's goslings. He was so big inside his egg his feet didn't have room to stretch out. When he was hatched the feet were crunched up against his body and he scooted everywhere. After a couple days it was hard for Scooter to keep up with his siblings and he would get left behind. We decided to bring Scooter inside and see if we could help him. When we went out to get him it was like Bonnie and Clyde knew and they led the other goslings off to the side and just stood there while we got Scooter. They didn't hiss or try to attack us at all. To keep Scooter from being lonely we went to tractor supply and brought home a duckling. Since we had a Scooter we decided to name the duckling Harley. Harley and Scooter became fast bosom buddies. Harley actually nudged Scooter to stand and to start walking. In a couple of days Scooter was walking like a normal gosling. We decided to put him back with his family. They took him and were fine for several hours, then they decided they didn't want him after all. They pushed him away from them and wouldn't let him be with his siblings. Back he came to be with his buddy Harley. Harley and Scooter are now in their own little pen in the backyard chasing bugs, swimming and just enjoying life. They haven't noticed or care that they are different. They don't care that Harley is bigger right now. They don't care that Scooter will one day be lots bigger than Harley. They are just happy to have each other.

You always have the most interesting stories. I will have to show this to my girls. (o: We had 2 baby ducks once and it was so much fun. They can make so much noise in the bathroom tub. They went to live on a farm as was pre planned.
I don't know how you just don't squeeze 'em to bitzy. They are just tooooooo cute!!!
Oh what a sweet story, Peggy... Harley and Scooter are the best of friends. Just how special is that!!!!!

Ah! Those birds in a bucket are so cute! Adorable. So neat that you were able to find a friendly solution to Scooter's problem. It will be really interesting to see these two waddling alongside each other when they are full grown. LOL
That is such a cute picture of Scooter and Harley swimming in the pan. The stories of you share of the daily happenings on your farm are something I always look forward to.
Peggy, the baby ducks are too cute for words, we bought some more grown one at the fea market this weekend, so we now hae 8. Love to watch them on the pond.
Hope things are going good for you.
How sweet to have a friends that don't care about their differences. It is sad that Scooter was not welcome by his family, thankfully he has Harley.
Mom,
Me and Joseph were working on the goat fence AGAIN (long story) anyways. Joseph started laughing and said look. We had all the goats in their barn/pen while we were working on the fence. Justin climbed in and was hugging and kissing them saying we will let you out soon.
I had to read this one out loud to my girls they loved it!!! Such a sweet story!!

Awwww they're so very precious, sis, and thank goodness you went and got Harley to keep Scooter company. You really should be writing children books with all your animal stories:-)

Precious....I had Jason come in here and read it too!!!
How sweet...and a good call for you guys to take him away from his family, and also to get him a buddy!
Lots of love, Jess
O Peggy, what an absolutely lovely story. It is amazing how much kinder animals can be to each other, compared to some humans.
Thankyou for sharing.
Peggy,
Differences mean nothing in critters or humans when the babies are young. When looking at the world through their eyes, they are just friends. Lovely photos and the goslings are so cute, as are Scooter and Harley.
Blessings,
Mary
