Blessed

Things are still busy around the homestead. Worried about the cost of hay and should have known God always provides. William and his helper went Sunday and picked up 100 bales for only $1.00 a bale. We didn't order chicks this year and our hens are getting old but once again God provided. We now have over 100 chicks that in a few months will be laying eggs or be sold to others wanting laying hens. Our cost? Zero! William has been getting lots of garden tilling jobs and other things spring from those. We also made some wonderful friends. I have been taught to give my burdens to God and not try to carry them alone. Its easier said than done but God always comes through and provides our needs. We are so very blessed! How about you?

That is a good price for hay. Years ago I thought I did well if I got that price but last year I had a friend ask for $3.50 a bale.

Another way to get some hay is to find a farmer who needs help haying and ask for hay instead of money to help him. You might also get some grain which you can have made into feed this way.

I am glad you are feeling positive about your circumstances.

Peggy,

I always try to count my blessings. Looks like God is taking care of you. How lucky to get hay for $1.00 a bale. I bought a bale last fall for $4.99. Pretty pricey.

The chicks sound wonderful. You will have lots of eggs when they start laying.

Take care, my friend. I hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day.

Blessings,
Mary

Absolutely blessed! Hubbies workplace has been firing all their slacker people literally left and right, and things are super S.L.O.W right now. Thankfully hubby has made himself irreplaceable to this company and has been promoted and kept in work. Thank you, Lord!

I've been blessed to find great coupon deals to feed my family and our pets for very little money.

The tornado that came through our county last weekend did not come to our house!

None of us have come down with that nasty swine flu!

Because I know God listens to my prayers I can sleep without fear of tomorrow.

God is great!!!

Those truly are blessing Peggy. It always amazes me that I get so surprised when He does provide. It is like I didn't really think He would. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, many burdens. But like you, I have found that I can be in no better hands that those of my loving Father who provides for me when no one else will. :)

Great job on 100 chicks! I don't have a market for mine, so I need only enough for ourselves, my parents, and the neighbor who helps us. We had a hawk problem, but the Lord worked it so it took almost all the roosters we'd have to cull anyhow. Should be down to about a dozen pullets. Just right.

What a blessing indeed. Here the cheapest we can get any hay for is $10.00 a bale, part of living in the desert I suppose. Oh well the joy of the homesteading that we are starting makes up for the expense.

God is so good isn't He??

We had a friend to bring us supper last night. Today when I stopped at the grocery, I had the opportunity to donate a few canned goods to the food pantry. Help for us one day, and for someone else the next! That's the way we will all get through along with God's help.

Thanks for sharing Peggy.

Hi Sis:-) Gosh I've missed you...seems we've both been busy! lol I paid $5 for a bale of hay last October (for my Halloween decorating) so getting it for $1 is a great deal indeed!! How wonderful to also get all these chicks for free. We are blessed for the way God takes care of us, sis, that's for sure!! Love ya! xoxox

Peggy, that is way that we are surviving right now..Only by the grace of God. Mike is still not getting a big majority of jobs but we hope that it will pick up soon. Only God could have worked things out this long now. I so understand how you feel..believe me, Peggy, i am right there with you..God provides for both of our families.
