This blog is a journal of the simple living on a small 2 and a half acre farm. The ups and downs. The good and the not so good. Adventures of Hidden Haven animals and some of my own. The sharing of our frugal, hardworking, attempt to be as self sufficient as possible. Please stop by often as we love company!

Sorry
Been busy canning 20 quarts of veggie soup, 8 half pints of peach jam and 8 pints of apple butter. This plus getting everything together for the craft fair tomorrow so haven't been posting. Will be back tomorrow evening with photos of the craft fair and whatever adventures going on around here. I am so blessed to have a friend that gives us excess fruit and veggies. Will come in handy on a cold winters night.

Hello Peggy
Look forward to more posts - all in good time
Take care
Cathy
Peggy, We all know how terribly busy you are. I'm amazed that you can do as much as you can. We all do understand.
Good luck at the craft fair...
Write when you can.
Hugs,
Betsy
Here's hoping you take that craft fair by storm and completely overwhelm them with the quality of your wares! :) See ya next week!

Gday Peggy. Do you ever sit down.. your house must smell divine with all that cooking and bottling..
look forward to your craft market photo's..
I am so glad you are blessed with energy. and yes on a cold winter morning, a little toast butter and apple butter and a little hot cocoa will sure hit the spot and help you remember the warm summer mornings.
I wish I had a fraction of your energy!!
I've always wanted to do preserving and canning but have never got around to it!!
I think it is so important that we all have the freedom to post or not, to visit when we can and not to visit when our homes are in need of us. If you post I will get to it and if you are busy I will understand.

Oh, I remember my mom's vegy soup from the summer crops. My favorite!! Glad you are well. xoxox
Peggy,
Canning season here is mainly in August and September, but we do can and freeze fruits as they are in season. Corn and tomatoes in August. Squash and pumpkin in September. Apples and pears in September. So canning season is pretty much in the future for me.
Looking forward to seeing your photos.
Blessings,
Mary
Hope you are having a great weekend and I can't wait for the pics.
Happy Sunday
Love, Jess
PS The canning sounds great
When I read of all the food you canned it made my mouth water..........recipes please!!
That sounds like a lot of work, but the soup sure will be good this winter!
