The Reason I Fill The Birdfeeders Everyday

Look real close inside the blue feeder. Mr. Squirrel and his friends had already partied down on the other ones. Notice on the back of the center post is a squirrel feeder. They eat on that when the birdfeeders are empty. I have several of those around in different places along with ears of corn for them and even peanuts! As I eat breakfast I watch the feeders. The birds come early, then the squirrels, then I refill and the birds and the squirrels chase each other off the rest of the day. I now have 19 feeders to fill each day. I don't mind though as I sure get enjoyment out of watching.
Edited to add that all the bird and squirrel food was free. Tractor Supply had bags of outdated feed and found bugs in a couple bags so was going to throw all of it out. I asked the manager if I could have it and now I have plenty of food for the birds and squirrels.

I love watching the birds and squirrels. Your new picture at the top is beautiful.

How are C and W doing? They're in my daily prayers.

Oh how funny! The birds are beautiful but the squirrels sure are acrobats, aren't they? Hope you have lots of joy this weekend Peggy.

That's a lot of feeders Peggy!! We have eight feeders and feeding stations and we can barely afford to keep them filled although we do.
It is fun to watch the birds and squirrels competing for seed when really, there's plenty for all.

How nice of Tractor Supply to let you have them, I'm sure that you give them lots of business with the Homestead. I noticed the nice pile of wood you have waiting.....guess you know where my mind is, but your temps are still to hot to be dealing with wood yet:0) Today we are having a summer like day and I am going to quilt and maybe hit one yardsale that mentioned fabric, LOL. Have a great weekend.

Hi Peggy,
you have more patience than I do for the squirrels. I've had to replace 3 bird feeders because the squirrels destroyed them getting to the black oil sunflower seed. I think I finally got one that is "squirrel proof" tho because it's been months since I've seen them near the bird feeder. I stopped encouraging them to come around last winter when they actually chewed holes in the porch screens to get to the bird seed I had there. What a pain for my husband to have to rescreen them!

I don't have the number of feeders I want because I can't afford to keep them filled. My "squirrels" are my 5 guineas! Now I will take a drive to tractor supply and see If i can pick up some old stuff!

Oh this is so lovely!! I used to love to watch the squirrels when I was a girl growing up in Virginia! What a nice show you have each morning while you eat breakfast!
