Homemade Ginger Ale

Thank you Tracy at Peaceful Acres for sharing your recipe and step by step directions on making ginger ale. I made 2 bottles and it is so good! I am going to be making more and sharing it with friends and family. It is delicious! So easy and so quick that I will be keeping some on hand all the time.

Thanks to my friend Gerda I had enough produce to can 3 quarts and 10 pints of dill pickles, 16 quarts of collard greens, 8 pints of pickled hot peppers, a quart jar of dehydrated mushrooms, a quart of dehydrated green onions, and a quart of dehydrated zucchini. I will be making and canning ketchup tomorrow along with canning a half bushel of green beans. Will be sharing some of the canned goods with the family when they come down to visit. What produce I don't use along with peelings, etc go to the animals so they are very happy too. Thank you Gerda! I am also enjoying the pumpkins, winter squash, mums, and gourds she passed on to me.

Buttons, our milk goat is in season. The only buck we have is Little Man who is a dwarf goat. He has been following Buttons around all day. She isn't happy. She keeps trying to let him know she wants him to leave her alone. She finally gave him a headache and he went off to rest.

Last night it was 38F and we had a nice fire. Tonight and all next week its suppose to be in the 80's during the day and 50's at night. Guess summer has decided to come back for another visit before hibernating for the winter. One day its long sleeves and a jacket to feed the animals and the next day its tee shirt time.

Grandson Q it was great talking to you last night! Glad you are starting to feel better. Prayers and love heading your way best bud.
Hope each of you have a wonderful weekend a very blessed evening!

Hi Peggy, The ginger ale sounds like a real treat. Your family and neighbors will enjoy the ginger ale and also many of these veggies you have been putting up. I remember how you love sitting by the fire at night when you finally sit and rest a spell from a busy day. I guess you are reading and stitching again...simple pleasures are the best!
Blessings to you and your entire family.

Our weather has been doing the same thing, temps bouncing all over the place. I won't complain though because when it's warmer we don't have to use the furnace. It was 71ยบ inside this morning without the furnace.

I'm happy that Buttons gave Little Man a headache!! Sometimes these men just have to be told!

I hope you get your cool weather soon I know how much you like it.

Still thinking about your grandson and hoping he's doing OK!!

I love ginger ale ! I've got a recipe I've been planning to try , but haven't got around to it yet. I think I'll check-out her recipe.
Your place looks so beautiful with all the Fall decor. It's wonderful that your friend passes all those goodies to you and you put them to good use.

~ Happy Autumn Blessings ~

The ginger ale sounds great. Even better with a scoop of vanilla ice cream in the cup :-)

We've been having goofy weather here in Maryland, too. Very chilly and Fall-like one day and this week they're talking about it going up into the high 80s! Please Mother Nature, take a good look at the calendar. November is almost here. Summer is over!!

I love your home! it is so pretty. Be careful gifting ginger ale. It doesn't stop fermenting. I made 3 bottles too and by the time I tried the 3rd bottle it didn't taste as good. Gift fresh ginger, a soda bottle with sugar and yeast and instructions instead. I haven't tried lemon lime yet but I love the ginger ale with lemon juice in it.
