Poem for Ms. Maggie

My friend Maggie over at knitting kat just lost her mother. My heart goes out to her as I lost my mother last January and it still hurts. This is a very sad and hard time for her so I wanted to share a poem with her. My mother had this poem picked out to be read at her funeral and it was just what we needed to hear at the time. Maggie's heart is breaking but deep inside she knows now she has a special angel watching over her. Maggie I hope this poem can help the pain a little and my prayers will be with you.
Miss Me But Let Me Go

When I come to the end of the road
and the sun has set for me
I want no rites in a gloom filled room
Why cry for a soul set free.

Miss me a little, But not too long
and not with your head bowed low.
Remember the love we once shared,
miss me, but let me go.

For this is a journey we all must take,
and each must go alone.
It's all part of the Master's plan,
A step on the road to home.

When you are lonely and sick at heart,
Go to the friends we know,
and bury your sorrows in doing good deeds,
Miss Me, But let me go.

Dear Peggy, I am so sorry for the loss of both yours & Maggie's Mothers. I am lucky enough to have my Mum, even though we live in different states of Australia ~ she means the world to me. Her Mother (my sweet gran) died a year ago and I miss her every single day. Your poem is so touchingly beautiful and made me cry. I too will be praying for Maggie. HUGS
