Fruitcake Cookies
2 cups all-purpose flour 1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1/4 cup water
q/2 teaspoon salt 1 egg, beaten
1 teaspoon ground allspice 1 cup glazed fruit
1 cup brown sugar, packed 1 cup chopped pecans
Preheat oven to 400. In a large bowl sift together flour,baking soda, salt, and allspice. Set aside. In a large bowl combine brown sugar, oil,water,and egg. Mix well. Gradually stir in dry ingredients. Mix well and stir in fruit and nuts. Drop dough by rounded spoonfuls 2 inches apart onto a ungreased baking sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until golden. Immediately remove to wire rack to cool. Makes 3 dozen
