Gingerbread Cookies
2 cups flour 1/3 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 cup shortening
1/4 teaspoon soda 1/2 cup molasses
1 teaspoon cinnamon 3 tablespoon hot water
1/2 teaspoon ginger
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl. Blend well. Chill dough at least an hour before handling. Roll out dough on floured surface to 1/8 inch thickness. Use gingerbread man cookie cutter. Place on ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake at 400 for 8 to 10 minutes. Cool and decorate
