Why I Blog

Toni over at Simple Sparrow http://simplesparrow.typepad.com/ posted why she blogs and offered us a look at where she enters the blog neighborhood. It got me to thinking of why I blog. Last year my niece Amy started a blog when she married and moved to The Netherlands. I loved keeping up with her news and pictures and thought what a fun way for our family to keep up with each others day to day life. I started my blog which at the time was called Peggy's Page then I got daughter Megan started blogging and Maggie and Melody followed. Now that the 3 of them live real close to each other again they don't blog. Amy has moved to Minnesota but still keeps her blog up and when we decided to move back to our old in need of lots of repairs home I changed my blog to Hidden Haven Homestead. William and I both are into going back to the simple life as much as we can so I thought it would be neat to write about life as we repair, clean up and start our new life. Then I started reading other blogs and I found Ms. Robyn's blog and from there found so many wonderful blog neighbors and friends. From each one of you I get so much! I learn a new craft, a new recipe, wonderful scriptures to get me through the day, courage from what you have gone through to know I can get through things too. Found lots of wonderful swaps, had a look into your homes and lives that make me feel like we are real neighbors next door to each other instead of through cyber space. Blogging I can write what's on my mind and know I have friends that have been there or at least understand and give good advice. I can share photos and stories and have wonderful comments and suggestions. I am blessed that I found this blog neighborhood and such a wonderful neighborhood of special friends. Here is where I sit as I enter into our "blog Neighborhood" each day.

I absolutely love our little blogging community that is developing. There are no over bearing personalities. we all respect and care for each other. I feel so blessed that each of you have come into my life.
I am going to be demented when I am away for 2 weeks without internet access.

Hi Peggy...
Just adding to the mix. I read tons of blogs, have a few favorites (including yours) but rarely update my own. I think I just like hearing about other folks' lives since my own tends to overwhelm me at times. Anyway, I wanted to let you know I followed your lead and DID actually post a view into where I blog, when I do, and where I always am when reading yours and others blogs. Thanks for the idea to you and Toni. (BTW, the current post about the bread made my deprived-dieting-mouth drool....shame on you!)LOL!
