I used my homemade laundry detergent (lavender) and my homemade fabric softner (lavender) and I have the best smelling cleanest clothes in the county! I washed on the back deck and enjoyed watching and listening to the birds at the feeders. Life is wonderful here at the homestead!

How cool1 I just came across your blog through the Etsy sellers ring...lavendar laundry soap sounds sooooo yummy!
I might be spending some etsy profits on your yummy goodies :)
Peggy, I love the photos. You make laundry sound fascinating! :)
Very cool...how long does it take you to do a load?
Hi Peggy! I often see your name on Tom's blog so decided to drop by and say hello. I enjoyed your post on laundry as it is one of my pleasures to make my own liquid soap, scented with lavender as well. May I ask how you make the softener? I would like to try that. One more question....we have not yet put up a clothesline and so I'm interested on how yours is built. Would you mind sharing? Thanks, and blessings to you!
Oh wow! Does that take me back to days on the farm and helping my Mom do the laundry!
what a beautiful line of clothes hanging in the sweet sunshine!!! It reminds me when my grandmother did her washing and she used her wringer...thanks for this post and the wonderful photos! blessings to you ...xo
Oh my, and I complain about ironing! This looks fun, did I say that?
Nice pictures. I wish I could smell your clothes, I bet they smell nice.
I love the wash tub!! How long does it take you to wash the clothes and dry them?
I would love to know your recipe for soap and softener- always looking for ways of simplifying!
I also see your name on Tom's blog, and also noticed you on Emily's, so I thought I'd stop by.
God Bless!
Hmmm...a computer and a handwasher all in the same little house! Too cool! I love the smell of lavender!
i love that you find blessings even in the mundane tasks such as laundry. i can almost smell those sweet scented clothes. lovely!
wow woman..
you make your own soap, your own laundry degertnat and fabric sofnter..then you wash your clothes by hand with a ringer and wash tub..
i feel so lazy now..
Ok, would you be willing to share the recipe for your homemade detergent??? I love the smell of lavendar so much and your pictures and old fashioned washing system are delightful!!!
Oh, and the fabric softener, too...
WOW ~ you really are a hands on gal. I can almost smell that fresh washing down here in Oz!
p.s. I have a washboard, but only as decoration...I'm amazed...You rock!
I can remember as a child seeing my grandmother wash her clothes in a old washer that stood under the porch. She had a wringer on it and a scub board. Not sure about the soap. My mom hangs out clothes in the summer, and I use to years ago when my children were small. Nothing beats the smell of fresh clothes from the line.
Your site is on top of my favourites - Great work I like it.
