Wash Day

I used my homemade laundry detergent (lavender) and my homemade fabric softner (lavender) and I have the best smelling cleanest clothes in the county! I washed on the back deck and enjoyed watching and listening to the birds at the feeders. Life is wonderful here at the homestead!

Hi Peggy! I often see your name on Tom's blog so decided to drop by and say hello. I enjoyed your post on laundry as it is one of my pleasures to make my own liquid soap, scented with lavender as well. May I ask how you make the softener? I would like to try that. One more question....we have not yet put up a clothesline and so I'm interested on how yours is built. Would you mind sharing? Thanks, and blessings to you!

I love the wash tub!! How long does it take you to wash the clothes and dry them?

I would love to know your recipe for soap and softener- always looking for ways of simplifying!

I also see your name on Tom's blog, and also noticed you on Emily's, so I thought I'd stop by.

God Bless!

I can remember as a child seeing my grandmother wash her clothes in a old washer that stood under the porch. She had a wringer on it and a scub board. Not sure about the soap. My mom hangs out clothes in the summer, and I use to years ago when my children were small. Nothing beats the smell of fresh clothes from the line.
