I have the animals, might as well start building the ark. We have had bad storms for several days. Today no storms just rain steady rain all day. I wasn't here but my neighbor said it rained all day and my yard that is now a lake is telling me the same thing. Tomorrow is calling for rain but then back to hot humid weather... hurry up winter I am waiting for you with opened arms!!! My neighbor Jane rode with me to Lexington (NC) to do some errands I had to do there. We also hit the thrift stores and my favorite antique shops. We had a nice trip and I brought some things back from storage and items I bought while shopping. When we got home it was time for Jane to go to a women's circle meeting and she ask me to go. I had time to change my clothes and take care of the animals before the 7pm meeting. Met several nice ladies and had a good time and good food but didn't get home till after 10pm. My van still has everything as I didn't have time to unload it and its raining anyways. I have had my shower, gotten 2 soap orders ready to go out tomorrow and now I am ready to read a few minutes and go to bed. I have 2 very special people in my life that really need prayers. My daughter Megan's husband Brian is having post traumatic stress. He is out of the army after doing 2 tours in Iraq and has a very good job and thought he was doing great. He was at work and just fell apart. He scared himself the way he was crying and just a nervous wreck. Brian never cries! His boss called Megan at work and she took him to the VA hospital. He is on medication and seeing a therapist but they won't let him go back to work for a month. Megan is working 76 hours a week to make up for Brian's loss of paycheck but isn't complaining. Brian is having a hard time going out among people right now and I ask you say a prayer for him that he can get through this and get his life back. The second person I ask you to say a prayer for is my brother Don. He had surgery for a malignant tumor in his bladder. He doesn't know what is in store for him as far as treatments yet. He is handling it very well for someone who has lost a sister, dad and mother to cancer. You have all be so good about praying and sending good thoughts in the past and I know that your prayers and thoughts will give them strength to handle whatever is before them. Time to go count my blessings and give God the glory..... Night everyone

My dad and several friends served in the Viet Nam war. It takes time and lots of love to heal from war, but in many instances I've been told that despite medication and therapy, the healing didn't really begin for the men I know until they joined vetran's support groups and started talking about their feelings with people who really did know what they had been through. It's a hard thing for strong and brave men to do, but I would urge Brian to explore this option as well.
I wish peace and healing for him and for your brother. Peace and love to you and the rest of your family as well.

Yes rain, rain and more rain here too. We really need it and sometimes we wonder about whether we should build an ARK too. You do have most of the animals though. Have a happy day....

I will be praying! And you aren't alone on the rain front! It's been raining here for days, but I guess our hay and corn need it! So I'll be thankful!

Dear Mrs. Peggy: My heart goes out to Brian and Don...I'll be lifting them up in prayer.

It's hard to get the right amount of rain...it's usually too little or too much, hardly ever just right.

Hi Peggy....praying here for son-in-law Brian and brother Don's healing...mind, body, and spirit. May He grant you wisdom and grace to minister to your loved ones. With God all things are possible. A verse I cling to in times like these: 2 Corinthians 4:18. Blessings to you!

My prayer list has been added to. I agree, the power of prayer can be so amazing! The post traumatic stress disorder is a constant thought in the back of my mind, with Andy being in the Army National Guard full time and on active duty. When his tour comes around, I wonder how he'll do coming back here to the chaos and adjusting back to daily life...Both Brian and Don are in our prayers. So are you and Megan!

I definitely will be thinking about and saying a prayer for your brother and your son-in-law. Your faith is an inspiration. You seem to be able to face family dificulties with grace and deep concern, which must mean a lot to your family members.

Post traumatic stress for veterans needs to be recognized as a real tragedy of sacrificing one's humanity for one's Nation. Puffed up patriotic rhetoric and handing out medals does not ease this suffering. Time and care from loved ones will.

Oh Peggy, I am so sorry things are heavy on your mind. I send special prayers to your son-in-law and hope he will heal very soon. I feel for these young men who go to war and are expected to ease right back into civilian life as soon as they return. I can't even imagine the horror they see when they close their eyes. Blessings to him for all he has done for our country and theirs. And for your brother, I pray the surgery went well and all cancer was found and removed. I hope you are keeping yourself checked through your physician since it runs in your family. We couldn't bare to have you ill! Prayers sweet Peggy, to all of you.
