Thrift storing Day
I lucked up today. The first place Jane and I walked into this rapid washer was the first thing I saw. I wanted to get one so I wouldn't have to use the scrub board but to order a new one was too expensive. You use it like a plunger but it has a piece in the middle that water is pushed up and out the little rivets at the top of the metal. It works like the agitator on a washing machine. I also found some shirts I can wear to work in outdoors that will be cooler than what I have been wearing. Found a few books and a purse. All in all I didn't spend but a few dollars till we stopped at the produce stand. There I bought 2 cantaloupes, blueberries, bananas, pears, apples, squash, green beans, new potatoes and corn. These will keep me going till my gardens start producing. All I am getting is lettuce, onions and tomatoes right now .... but soon I will be covered up with my own produce. Hope each of you have had a blessed day. We had a nice steady rain all night and part of the day so everything is looking so fresh and pretty. Time to set down with a glass of tea and count my blessings while I watch the birds.

Peggy,
Did I read your getting tomatoes now??? We'll have to wait here for a while yet :)
What an interesting gadget!
We call them possers I think. We went to a lovely old house last week and there were a whole row of them in the laundry room along with big tubs and a mangle.I thought of you then!I have some pictures on my Flickr account if you want a peek!
I love seeing what new gadget you have this week.... it amazes me how I take so many 'modern' ideas for granted. I won't tell you how much my last power bill was...oh dear. Miss Peggy, do you know much about preserving vegetables???? specifically capsicums or peppers???? many hugs to you xox
Ive never heard of a rapid washer either. But then again Im a city girl and no nothing about farm life. Enjoy your weekend.
I was looking at the Lehman's catalog the other day and noticed the rapid washer, and I thought of you and the scrub board. And now you've got yourself one.... uncanny!
If you find another one, will you get it for me please?
Great find!! You are such a busy lady! i can't seem to pass up a good produce stand!! Enjoy your day dear Peggy..xo
