This blog is a journal of the simple living on a small 2 and a half acre farm. The ups and downs. The good and the not so good. Adventures of Hidden Haven animals and some of my own. The sharing of our frugal, hardworking, attempt to be as self sufficient as possible. Please stop by often as we love company!
I really enjoyed my trip to the Homestead today! Your animals looks so lively and healthy!! Looks like you have a lot to keep you busy...even making soap!! :-D
peggy, that was such fun - can I come visit in real life? i think you should have a challenge and ask everyone to do the same on their blog - a day with..... I am still praying for Diva !
This is a wonderful post. My eldest girls and I loved looking at your pets this mornings. we would love some chickens ourselves...I'm quite sympatico with chickens. LOL! I really envy you your lifestyle - in fact self-sufficiency is a bit of a dream for me. I'm more self-sufficientish!!
Oh, I meant to say that I'm a former soaper - I gave up when my youngest hit two! (Too dangerous to cold compress with a toddler doing her thing!) But, I'll start again when she's older. I used to sell it at farmer's markets. The most profitable craft I've ever done...goat's milk castille was always one of my favourites!
Your last post has reduced me to a big pile of tears.... but this one cheered me up.... a little. How I wish I could have been there to help you. I probably would have been a blubbering mess though, better off in Australia, me thinks. Bless you Peggy.... for sharing yourself so very thoroughly and lovingly with us all. xox
I loved the slide show.....when I was about 10 and went to my aunts house I would gather the eggs for her.....I loved it....and help her can......my girls do some canning... I just do the sampling....

My son loved your pictures. Thanks for sharing!
That was great, Peggy. I hadn't realised that you had such a varied menagerie out there.
Your garden is looking lovely, especially those big shady trees.
