Ms. Fran

Since I am always talking about my neighbor Ms. Fran I thought I would post a picture of her. I took her some milk, eggs and soap yesterday and we sat out on her screened in porch and visited. She loves talking about things she did growing up and working on the family farm. She said she would rather work the tobacco field than cook. Her husband came to visit her brother one day and stayed for dinner. Her mother had the table loaded with food grown on the farm and since he was a city boy he was amazed at how good everything was. He thought Fran had helped cook the meal. Later after they married he found out she hated cooking! LOL Fran said it was a good thing he enjoyed cooking. Some days Fran's mind is quick and some days she is very confused. Yesterday was a good day.

What a lovely lady. I find myself drawn to the older generations as friends than the young. I can sit for hours listening to tales from the past rather than rambling on about themselves (as much of the younger folk do). My mom is the same way. More confused days than not recently, but the last couple have been really good and I have been taking advantage of it and taking her all around to enjoy the day. I love that you posted this. We need to hear these stories, they're wonderful. (My mom picked cotton growing up!)
