So What

Seems like there are more and more people complaining that Christmas really isn't Jesus birthday so we shouldn't say he is the reason for the season. Not his actual birthday? SO WHAT! We have picked a day to honor his birth. All over the world for that one day there is a sense of peace, love and hope. We share the story of Christ birth. The miracle that took place so very long ago no matter what the actual date. We seem to slow down from our busy crazy life and take time to give thanks for Christ's birth. It doesn't matter if we have the date right or not. It matters that we remember that holy night the angels came to announce the newborn king. Don't stop keeping Jesus as the reason of the season because its not his actual birthday. Sing those wonderful Christmas carols. Read the miracle story of Christs birth. Pray for peace goodwill to all men. I am sure Jesus doesn't mind what day we celebrate his birth as long as we just don't forget his love and many blessings he has given us.
From all the critters, Ms. Diva, William and myself ....
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Dear Peggy - I hope you and your family and friends all have a wonderfully blessed Christmas.

As you say, the point is that remember that Jesus came to dwell with us and save us - what difference does it make that we may be a few days/weeks out with the actual date.

Happy Holidays and best for the up coming year.

No one know the exact date of Jesus birth because calender chance so much.
In all with the darkness.
It dark here at 4:30 in the afternoon and little flicker of hope towards a better tomorrow is always nice.

From my menagerie to yours, Merry Christmas! Paulo the peacock seems to be stutting around in all his glory as if he knows this is a special day. He is too independent to let me put a Santa hat on him or even a red ribbon on his lovely blue neck.

Here are some thoughts for the day from the Sufi Mystic, Rumi. Don't waste you rant on those that dwell on the trivial.(change the date of Christmas. . .really!}

"I regard not the outside and the words,
I regard the inside and the state of the heart.
I look at the heart if it be humble,
Though the words may be the reverse of humble.
Because the heart is substance, and words accidents,
Accidents are only a means, substance is the final cause.
How long will thou dwell on words and superficialities?
A burning heart is what I want; consort with burning!
Kindle in the heart the flame of love,
And burn up utterly thoughts and fine expressions"

May your Faith be a 'burning heart"
