Vacation is Over

After running away from home in April Bud decided it was time to come home. We thought he had gone to the swamp and when it turned cold wouldn't make it. I was surprised when my neighbor called to tell me Bud was outside their turkey pen. I brought him home and he actually seems to be smiling. William thinks Bud checked his calendar and saw the days were getting shorter so it was time to head back home. Whatever the reason Bud is back home!

William is on his way to Baltimore but did get to stop by the house last night. I fixed stir fried steak and it was good! We took the goats for a walk down the driveway before he had to head out this morning. I got all the pens raked and cleaned some of the water buckets before it got too hot. Another in the 100's day. Sure can't wait for fall to arrive. Have a blessed weekend!

I hope you warned the neighbours that that prehistoric creature was loose. Years ago our nursery school's python got loose. We had to post signs all over our New Haven community. Eventually, it slithered out from under a piece of cabinetry in the school. I guess it was finally wanting to be fed a mouse.

It was nice to meet Bud. I had an iguana for 6 years when I taught in Columbia. He grew to 6' long! We used to take him on walks with a leash on!

Well, Ol' Bud is a smart 'un, e is. I bet he won't be so eager to run away next time...unless he knows a neighbor with a girl iguana. LOL Glad your little buddy is home.

O! you don't think he was going for thanksgiving dinner early do you? (looking into the turkey house) you can get real hungry if you run away from home. :)

I see your "farm yard family" are all doing well and that the weather is still hot! hot! HOT! gosh, and here we are heading for spring and loving it after such a cold winter down under!

Peggy always love to visit your blog........always!

Glad to hear Bud is back. Terry said he was just wondering day before yesterday if Bud had come home. I suspect he knew it was going to be getting colder. Maybe this year he won't pout about being in the house.

Bud knows a good thing when he sees it - your home with the lovely new porch, animals to play with, and a Mom who will love him........and feed him too! Wonder how he managed all those months without you? Welcome back Bud.
