Time Change

Everyone else is enjoying setting their clocks back an hour. Here at Hidden Haven I have some very unhappy animals. It was 4pm and the goats stand at the fence looking toward the house crying. The chickens were standing at their gate waiting for food. The geese and ducks were very loud in their demands. All the animals thought I was late with their supper. Seems they didn't get the memo about the time change. William said I should post a sign by their pens letting them know. Yeah right! LOL

All I know is they are very upset with me. I can't hardly walk to the goats feeders for them trying to eat out of the bucket in my hand. The rabbits wouldn't get out from under my feet they were so hungry. Fred the turkey let me know in turkey talk I was on his bad list. It was so sad hearing them crying for food when by new time they had another hour till feeding time. I did break down and go out a few minutes early. None of them had fainted from hunger though I don't think they even took the time to taste their food. It sure disappeared fast! Hopefully they will soon adjust to the new time and won't give me too hard of a time and Diva will stop snubbing me.

I thought it was strange that I had to drive home with my head lights on for the first time, it's been a while

In Canada, Saskatchewan farmers blocked Daylight savings. They and their animals can get up and down with the son, Thank you very much!
The Canadian Sir Sanford Fleming, who gave us time zones had somethings to do with daylight savings also but I think the real sower the the seed of this idea was Ben Franklin in 1784 in a humourous article http://webexhibits.org/daylightsaving/franklin.html

I trust you enjoyed your extra hour of sleep.

I dont like the time change, it seems odd trying to get used to it and I dont like that is dark now when I have to go to the barn, I guess like the animals we have to get used to a new schedule too!

Hope things are calming down at your place!

Have a wonderful day!

I like this time change but then again I am not an animal depending on someone else to feed me either!! Poor things they will adjust in time. Sandy

We had friends that would start a couple of days before (when they had to change feed and milk times). They would move it 15 mins. every day until they were there.

I am like you. I know they will not starve. However, they DO try to make you feel bad. =)

It is all very well for us humans, but the animals just dont get it, do they! Very hard on dairy farmers & the herds of cows.

Those hunger pains are on a strict schedule. I was wanting my lunch at 11:00am. Hope the little things adjust soon. Hate to hear they are unhappy.

Hugs,
Connie
