Puttin Up The Tree

While everyone has taken down their tree we are putting ours up. William got the bright ideal to make me a jar tree. He said his mom had one when he was young and we needed one. Have to admit it solves the problem on where to keep the jars when they are empty and I can get to them easily. Just seems strange to look out the kitchen window and see a jar tree in the backyard!

The goat shed is almost complete! Wayne has been working in 14 and 16 degree weather to get it finished. William and Larry are putting up the fence. Hang on Rosie, we will be coming in the next few days to get the goats.

I spent the morning making soaps and the afternoon packaging and shipping. I am planning on pouring candles tonight and tomorrow we leave early to go to a funeral in Ashboro which is a couple hours from here. Fran's son in law will help get her up in the morning. She wasn't happy we weren't going to be there but we promised we would be back in time to help her to bed tomorrow night.

Momma Kitty is being such a sweet mom! I just love the babies. They are getting so big and their eyes are already trying to open.
Sorry the pictures are blurry but the babies wouldn't hold still.

Everyone have a great weekend!

Hi,
What a neat idea a jar tree. I can alot and have to store jars. I like Unique things, you don't see a jar tree at everyones home.I've never heard of one before. But a very neat idea.
Between you ,my Dh and Ds ya'll will make a cat Lover out of me yet.lol We have some and Dh feeds 8 every a.m. I do feed them if he has to be gone. We feed all strays and wild life.
Ya'll have a Great wk.end.

Hi Peggy,
Well, I have never seen a jar tree before! When I first saw the picture I thought it was ice hanging on the tree!! (Bad eye sight you know :) My grandmother use to hang painted gourds from trees. She also hung them all over the fence around her yard.

I'm glad to hear that everything is about ready for the new goats. I know that's been a big job in this cold weather.

I really think you need to send Lib a few of the kittens!! LOL They are so cute!

Take care and be safe on your trip tomorrow.

Hugs,
Hope

A jar tree...now that's an interesting concept! lol Did William explain the meaning behind it or is it just to hold empty jars?? I should try that here...but then my neighbours would think I really went in the deep end! hehe Awwww those kittens are sooo adorable. xox

How unique is that.... I have never heard of a jar tree before, but really like the concept. Sounds as if yours has been one busy household.

Thanks for sharing.

I can completely understand the principle of a jar tree!! i especially can understand it long ago but why not today?
i love those kittens. They are so cute. Keep up the pictures of them so that i can see them.
Today had some problems this morning and I wish that i could get up and do this morning over again, but since i can't I have to just GO WITH THE FLOW I guess. I hate making mistakes and well I am the queen of them today!! Smile.

Peggy, the new kittens look so precious!!! Oh, I wish I could pet them:)

It has been as cold as a kipper here as well and I have spent extra time outdoors making sure all of my animals are cozy. Luckily the temps are starting to moderate here for now.

Happy New Year, Peggy!

I have never heard of a jar tree. This is a really fun idea. Can't wait to ask my dad about that one and see if his mom did that one.
So sorry you have to go to a funeral. Drive safely.

Such cute kittens.

The babies are soooooo cute and I love your jar tree! I have to tell you that the soaps I purchased from you made the most perfectly perfect gifts! I had to keep the pumpkin for myself and boy does it last and last! Love it!!!

A jar tree...I don't think I've ever seen a jar tree but it makes good storage for those jars!

Never seen a jar tree before...except when the mischievous Students put our beer Jugs on the branches of one of our trees.

Love the little kittens. We took in a stray, who gave birth to 5 kittens. She was a lovely mother, & looked after them well.

Question on the jar tree: If temperatures are below freezing will the jars crack? Just curious!
