Sammi

No babies yet. We spent all day yesterday trying to find a Vet in our area that would see a goat. I got to the point I almost tried to pass her off as a small horse since there are plenty of doctors for them around here. We just don't think the long ride to the state vet hospital would be good for her. Ms. Fran's granddaughter found a animal hospital with a vet that will see Sammi. Her appointment is at 1pm tomorrow. She will have a ultrasound and exam then see what the doctor suggests. We are hoping she doesn't have to have a C-section. Will let you know as soon as we know. Thank you for the emails, comments, thoughts and prayers. I know its silly but William and I both are doing every 2 hour checks even with the monitor as Sammi is like one of the family.

Poor Sammi, she has to be miserable! Peggy, what ever happened to the good ole days when vets would come to your farm to check animals? Vets use to go into that profession because they "cared" about animals. Key word here!

I'll be back to check on you all later on and I'll be thinking about you today.

Love and Hugs,
Hope

I don't think it's silly to be keeping such a close check on her. I only know of her from reading the blog and I've checked your blog a dozen times today for new word about her. I'll keep the prayers coming. Hope you and William are getting some rest through all this.

Hello Peggy

Whats the gestation time for goats? Is she very overdue?

C sections are not only a pain (for the animal) but for you also (very expensive) Lets hope it doesn't come to that

Take care
Cathy

I understand completely. Our animals are part of our family. I hope all goes well tomorrow. I'll check in to see and I'll say a prayer for all of you.

I hope she is able to come through this okay, and that you'll be happy with the result as well.

Oh poor Sammi. I am sending vibes for her to be ok. Poor little girl! I know how you love your animals, & I know how much you will be worrying. I agree, it seems wrong for the vets not to attend in situ!
