Sammi Has Four Babies!!

We didn't make it to the Vet's yesterday as Sammi was in labor and we didn't want to move her. She had a very long and hard labor but with a happy ending. 2 bucks and 2 does. The first buck weighed 5 lbs. The first doe weighed in at 4lbs4oz. The second buck weighed 5lbs and the second doe weighed 4lbs8oz. They are HUGE! They were trying to nurse on our fingers as we were cleaning them within seconds of delivery. They were up and nursing Sammi before they were a hour old. They were even peeing within minutes of being born! The girls look like their mom and the boys take after their daddy Brown Robyn. Yeah with the date of delivery Brown Robyn is the dad. When Nitro mounted her the delivery date would have been January 27th. When we thought she might have came back in season we put her and Brown Robyn in a pen together for 3 days and that would have made the delivery date March 5th. They are all beautiful, healthy kids and mom though is very tired is doing great.
Let me introduce you to: Hidden Haven Sweet Pea. She is named after her godmother Sweet Pea over at http://peascorner.blogspot.com/

And here is Hidden Haven Gabrielle. My granddaughter Gabby named her early this morning.

Here is Hidden Haven Samson. (Sammi's son get it? LOL) He is fast asleep under the heat lamp after nursing.

And here is Hidden Haven Robyn Nickle cause William says his head profile reminds you of a buffalo nickle.

Mom and babies are doing well. Will post more photos later. Am off to clean up the stall and play with the babies.

I am pleased for you and your new brood. I had my doubts you would have a happy outcome. It certainly is a large brood collectively and totally. Have fun sharing mothering them all.

Wow! that's a lot'o kids.... Bettye Goat (Little Girl) had twins a few hours ago and they are sweet-

You can keep Niacin powder on hand to ward off ketosis, or pregnancy toxemia- propylene glycol is so yucky.....

Finally Sammi had her babies! I laughed at the picture of the wee lad who ate then conked out under the heat lamp - so like the male species in general! Mom does all the work but the guys do all the resting!

The colours are nice on this bunch; the black and white...not to mention the one with the spots.

We had a bunch more snow today but you know; I'm thinking those goats are cute enough I'd rather have them eat our grass than cut it. Although they probably poop a lot, right? My lawn is still "digesting" the Canadian Geese poop those dang birds left behind ~ back in NOVEMBER!!

Congrats to Sammi. So, are these little cuties posing in something cute for Easter? Ha ha ha

It seems Brown Robyn was just born and now he's a DAD? Wow, those goats work fast.ha!
Hopefully now everyone can get some sleep and enjoy all these new wee ones running around.

Hi Peggy! Congratulations! Sammy's kids were born on my B-Day!!! I just stumbled your blog, added you as a friend on BC and am listing your blog on my blog. Kudos, and will subscribe shortly.

My dream is to have a farm one day. I am struggling to make that happen. I am a big goat fan and truly love them so.

Thanks for your creativity and dedication to these gentle creatures, that are smart and loving.
