Be Happy

I have enjoyed reading Rhonda Jean and some of her friends posts about living the simple life. The most important thing they all had in common was they were happy. If you are not happy in your lifestyle it doesn't matter if its a frugal simple or skies the limit exciting one. Don't feel guilty or change your lifestyle because of someone else. If you love to live in the city, shop, eat out then don't move to the country, cook from scratch and shop at second hand shops. Just be happy you can live where and how you want.
I was happy living in Florida with a nice home, great job and being able to scuba dive and be near the ocean every day. Then I got the chance to live my dream. To live in a small home, have gardens, animals, and work at making life as simple as possible. Life is wonderful even on stressful days. I love feeding and milking the goats, planting gardens, cooking, planning, stocking and keeping a full pantry. I love using my washtubs in warm weather. I love folding laundry freshly dried on the clothesline. I love making cheese and soaps. I love planning with William on things we can do to make ourselves more self sufficient. I am happy dressing in worn jeans, rubber boots and a tee shirt. I am happy breaking and getting my nails dirty in the garden. I love mucking goat stalls, cleaning chicken and rabbit pens. To be able to watch one of our animals give birth and being able to help is wonderful. Even when problems occur and we are really pinching those pennies this is the life for me! Simple life isn't easy nor is it for everyone. That's a good thing. It takes all kinds of lifestyles to make this world. Just be happy with your choice and the rest is just extra blessings. Don't worry.. Be happy!

Happiness comes form with in.

AMEN! Can't think of anything else to say as you said it all! If you lived closer I would invite you over for tea. Your blog is one of the first ones I visited when I first started looking for homesteader blogs and goat info before we moved to the property and started homesteading ourselves. I love being able to see the goat pictures and the stories that go along. Thanks for sharing. Have a Happy Day!

This is great post. It makes me more appreciative that I'm able to live a lifestyle that makes me happy, and reminds me that those who live differently may be just as happy, too.

BTW, your kitchen is adorable. Love the chicken wire in the cabinet doors!

Hi Peggy. It's me, Corky.
Can't figure how to get on here.
You have said exactly how I feel about our little place.
We were also happy in the city but much happier here.

God bless you and William. I can't wait to meet you some day.

You are so right..It doesn't matter what you do, as long as one is happy..Your way of life, I find, I lean towards..We garden, make jellies/freeze veggies, and try to live simple..Don't have animals, but getting too old for that.

Your kitchen looks wonderful. I love living on the simple side too. Grew up on a farm and I'm finding way home , little by little.

Hi Peggy,
I love this post.We live a simple life. It just isn't what most people expect a simple life to look like.I have been told unless we live on farm ,raise our own food ,have animals and use no modern tools then we are living a simple life. Which I now can say bull to. LOL We are debt free. We use modern tools that make life easy and we shy away from hard work. We eat clean and we enjoy life. We are happy with the simple life we have created.
Hugs,
Elizabeth

I miss hanging out clothes on the line. We are not "allowed" clothes lines here in this sub division..someday we hopefully will live where it is no problem.

Hi Sis:-) From your words, I can tell just how very happy you are in your little corner of the world and you're very lucky to be living your dream! I'm not a big city girl and I'm not a pure country girl...I'm something in between! lol I do love simpler living, though, and do the best I can :-) xoxo

I couldn't agree with you more:) Life is what you make it. It's only a revolving circle if you allow it to be. The simple life is pure heaven on Earth. I can't wait to have our homestead and be away from the hustle and bustle of the military lifestyle. Thanks for the inspiring words Peggy. God Bless

Beautifully said Peggy. A person needs to be happy where they are in their life or make the needed changes to bring them that happiness.

Have a blessed day.

Great post Peggy!! Just bloom where you are planted!! I would love to have some acreage and some animals but it's a lot of work. I get to come here and read about and see your animals and that helps me to bloom better where I'm at!! :)

Great words and thoughts Peggy - I so admire the lifestyle you are following. Knowing you are so happy just makes it all worthwhile - and you give so much back to your animals, family, and many friends. I could never do what you have done but try to do my bit to help the earth in other ways.
Enjoy this week - weather is nice again and everywhere is so green after the weekend's heavy rain around here. Unfortunately I awoke today with a terrible sore throat so am lying low this morning - sending dh out to do the garden chores! Glad Dan is back on the road - tell him to take care.
Hugs - Mary.
