Just Another Saturday at Hidden Haven

Eggplants are finally growing! I have been checking daily to see if any eggplants would form and look what I found! I just love it when all the planting and weeding pays off. I have been getting cucumbers for the past few days but there are still tons of blooms and tiny cukes promising to keep us plenty to eat and for making pickles.
I ate a fresh tomato sandwich for supper tonight. Nothing beats a fresh tomato right out of the garden!

Squash and zucchini are growing and producing like crazy!

I have onions and jalapeno peppers hanging on the porch to dry.

If the birds will leave them alone I hope to have enough concord grapes to make some jelly later this summer

If not then we can always pick the wild muscadine grapes that grow all around the homestead.

Baby enjoyed a nice drink of fresh cold water while her mom Mandy joined Diva for a bite of hay.

Larry and Molene were taking the babies for a walk while Curly sat on her nest. Curly hopes she will hatch her own babies soon.

The babies are in the nursery relaxing and having a snack.

Yeah, just another Saturday at Hidden Haven and I love it!

What a wonderful Saturday Peggy and thanks for sharing it!
I just love coming here and reading!
It's just so peaceful and I love seeing the goats and everything that is growing!

Yup! Would be glad to come and do some cleaning as long as I could play with the goats and we could make soap together!
Sound like a deal??

Wow, Peggy, your garden is doing great! I love seeing the eggplant... never tried that but I'm awfully curious. I keep encouraging my first tomato to turn red... maybe one of these days I'll get a tomato sandwich. :) I can't believe how big your onions are! And the concord grapes!

The critters look mighty happy too.

I can see why you love it at Hidden Haven. :)

Peggy, it is is so good to see your growing things. Signs of life continuing on, as it is meant to.
The Rabbits are a new joy. I know Diva will forgive. She must grieve too.

I have no veggies yet and the plants themselves are stunted due to NO rain for two weeks - until last night, yeah we had some good showers at long last!

Glad the homestead is active and busy - the animals are so sweet and you are always kind to share what's happening. Makes we 'city gals' a bit envious - if I was younger I might want to start over and live as you do Peggy!

Hoping Diva is starting to feel better - I'm still sad about Nitro and think of how you were so kind to him.
Sending you a special Sunday hug.
Mary.

(((((((((((((Peggy))))))))))) :)

Thank you so much for the offer but I think we'll find everything over the summer. And have the fun of searching for them :)

I tried eggplants for the first time last year but it never did get fruit. Blooms but nothing past that. I've actually never even eaten one.

Tomato sandwiches on the other hand are one of my favorite things! We'll have to share some soon.

I love sharing our days thru our blogs, it's almost as good as being neighbors :)

I love all your pen set ups. Everything is looking good. I am still waiting for that first tomato. It is still probably 3 weeks away at least. Enjoy one for me!!!

Hello Peggy, I always enjoy visiting your blog and all the wonderful pics. I had named my three Khaki Campbell ducks a few weeks ago and noticed in this post two of ours have the same names. I named my three Larry, Moe and Curly as they reminded us of the three stooges at times. I am working on posting pictures of them. With my dial up I have to have plenty of time to sit and wait to get them posted.
