Lisa tagged me for 7 favorite things in my kitchen. I am suppose to take photos of the 7 things and then tag others. If you want to do this let me know so I can pop over and have a look. If you get a chance check out Lisa's blog. She is new to the blog neighborhood and you will really enjoy your visit! Now for my 7 favorite kitchen things. The first one is my pot rack. William purchased it for me at a antique shop in Lexington, NC years ago. I love it! Tall people don't if they happen to try to walk under it. They get slammed in the head by a iron skillet! Its hanging off to the side of kitchen where no one should walk but it happens sometimes. The second thing is in the same photo. All our iron skillets. The one on the left was my mothers. She gave it to William a few weeks before she died. He always cooked breakfast for her when she visited and used several skillets. She wanted him to have hers and we both use it alot!
My third thing is the open shelves in the kitchen. I love being able to just reach up and get whatever bowl, etc I need without opening a cabinet door and searching.
The third thing is our collection of antique grinders. Love finding them at flea markets, yardsales, thriftstores, etc for a couple of dollars. The fourth are my vintage refrigerator bowls. I have the yellow big one, 2 blue ones and 2 small red ones. They are all in excellent shape except one of the blue ones. It has a couple of chips in it but I only paid a dollar for it. The fifth thing I really love!
Rhonda had a give away a while back and I was the lucky winner of this beautiful hand stitched by her piece. I framed it and hung it in the kitchen where its one of the first things you see.
My sixth favorite thing is the jar lamp we use for a night light. It gives just enough light during the night you can find your way to bed, bathroom, etc.
The seventh are my cabinets. I love the chicken wire in the doors. I love the country barn red colors.
So there you have 7 of my favorite things about my kitchen. What are yours??

I like your kitchen, mine is packed up and simple so I cant play this time:(
Love you kitchen and you your antiques. I have my grandmaws old blur refrigerator bowl.
What a nice cozy kitchen. I love the chicken wire on the cabinets especially - so neat. I can almost smell some potatoes and onions frying up in one of those cast iron pans, too! Thanks for the link, and the invite the share my blog. For some reason I'm thinking I read you are in North Carolina, am I right? My sister-in-law and her husband recently moved to Winterville (I think that is what it is called). She's a peach, you'd love her!
Are you KIDDING me?!! I had no idea your kitchen looked like that! It's adorable - I love it!! It looks like a country magazine layout or something.
Peggy,
You have a beautiful kitchen. I love the red cabinets and all of your beautiful vintage and antique items. Food is always more tasty when cooked in a cast iron skillet.
Thanks so much for sharing. I enjoyed visiting with you. Drop by when you have a chance.
Blessings,
Mary
How fun!
I have the refrigerator bowls too. Besides the 2 blue middle size ones, I found a bright yellow that size. I love them and use them often. Some were my Mom's, so they are special. The lamp shade on your lamp is just like the ones my Grandma and Great Aunts had. I love them and keep my eyes out for one.
Oh I wanna play. Your kitchen looks great. So cozy and inviting, Peggy.
I can think of about 10 things in my kitchen that I love right off the top of my head. LOL How sad is that! Stop by and see mine later today. It's too dark to get good pictures right now. =)
Hugs,
Kristie
I LOVE your cupboards!!! What a great idea and it SO cute... I have to admit I am evious of your 'rack' *snicker* I have always wanted one of those to hang my pots etc.. on. They are such a space saver in your cupboards, or am I mistaken?
Your kitchen looks just like I thought it woould. Warm, comfortable and useful. Much like the woman who uses it.
Now I seem to be having a de ja vu. Did you ever do this 7 things before ?
I love it all! The refrigerator bowls, the chicken wire in the cabinet doors, the grinders, the jars as canisters, the baskets on top of the refrigerator. It looks like a wonderful place to hang out!
No wonder we're sisters at heart...we love the same kind of kitchen! lol Of course I love your red kitchen since mine is as well! hehe I have two old grinders...one belonged to Eddie's parents back in the 1940's and one belonged to my parents back in the 1950's. I never thought of putting them out on display!! Love ya sis. xoxo
