One Hot Momma

Yesterday morning when I went out to do morning chores Blinkin was as close as she could get to the boys pasture crying and doing a good job of getting their attention. I wasn't going to breed her this time but she had other ideals. She kept crying and got all the boys crying so loud I am sure the neighbors were ready to have roasted goat. After talking with William I put Frosty Dan and Blinkin in together. Frosty Dan did his job right away and was ready to rest. Blinkin wasn't. She kept rubbing on Frosty Dan and talking to him so much he was running to me crying to get away from her. He got upset with me as I made him spend the night with her. Done him good to be with a older female! This morning when I went out he was at one end of the pen and Blinkin was at the other totally ignoring each other. I walked Frosty Dan back to the boys pasture and finished up the chores. This afternoon when I go to feed Blinkin isn't in with the other girls. I figure I will look for her after I finish feeding. When I go to feed the boys there she is. It has rained all day so she was all snuggled down between Frosty Dan and Leonard. Brown Robyn and the younger boys were asleep on the other side of the stable. When I opened the door Blinkin thought I was coming to get her and took off running. The boys right behind her. When they came back Blinkin went to the very back of the stable and the boys stood all around her watching me so I couldn't get to her. She seems very happy staying with the boys and they aren't bothering her so I left her there. She had to go over or under two sets of hot wires to get to the boys so she must have really wanted to be there. All I can say is if Frosty Dan got the job done I will be spending my birthday helping Blinkin deliver. If one of the boys got her today then I will have a birthday present a day late. (if Blinkin kids on due date). Life with goats is so much fun and you sure get plenty of exercise!

That is so funny, Dan doing his thing then being such a man and just turning over... lol ~ she sounds like she as acting like a teenager! All I can say is I could hear her and the boys giggling all the way here at you! :o)

She is just being what we call a real Hoochie mama. I guess Dan let her down so she decided to go out and find her own man =)
So funny.

She was determined! I can only imagine what the neighbors think about how vocal our bucks can get, especially this time of year. Luckily our neighbors are not too close!

I don't know much about goats but it seems like it may be mating season at your farm, tehe. You know how that time clock ticks away, she isn't about to waste a minute.

Haaaaaaap-py Birthday, LOL! Oh, I just can't want to see those goats! (Okay, maybe I could do without the bucks if they are spraying, LOL.)

Well, send her my congratulations!

HI, Peggy -

My, you sure do have your hands full there on the farm. I'd love you to take a minute to pop over to my blog. I tagged you for a kitchen meme. I'm real new to blogging, been following yours for a couple months now. I have nobody to tag, hope I didn't annoy you in doing so. I don't know tagging ettiquette yet. Is there such a thing?

Peggy,

What a delightful post. Goats are such charming creatures and so much fun, but yes, they can keep you on the run.

Enjoyed visiting with you. Hopefully now that the apartment is finishes and rented, I will have more time. Drop by when you have a chance.

Blessings,
Mary
