Christmas Weekend Gingerbread House

After the treasure hunt the grandkids built a gingerbread house. It took them about an hour to build but only five minutes to eat!

Peggy,

What a wonderful activity to do with your grandchildren. The boys and my mother made one a couple of years ago and they loved it. We also made a candy tree that year. They've kept it and bring it out every year. You need a styrofoam cone and candies in wrappers. Then you just glue the candies to the foam. They pretty neat. We used red and white and green and white stripped mints.

I'm so glad that you like the books that I sent to you. I wasn't sure what your reading preferences were. Please be sure to let me know if they were good reading.

Blessings,
Mary

Hi Peggy,
I Love this post!Wonderful Memories!
We do things such as this with the little ones. I don't remember so much what I got for Christmas as a kid, but I remember and cherish the memories of Family time!
Have a great wk. Thanks for sharing!

Now THAT is a gorgeous gingerbread house! The best kind - beautifully made by willing, happy hands! New chapters of your neat weekend just keep unfolding.

Geez, sis, I sure have a lot of catching up to do! Been so busy with the Christmas preparations, haven't had much time for visiting. Today I wrapped gifts all day so that's another thing done. Brought the tree in a little while ago and will decorate it in the morning.

Seeing your grands make that gingerbread house brings back so many memories of when my boys were younger and they'd make one. Half the time I had to buy extra candies because they'd have eaten them all before the house was done! lol xoxo
