Happy 5th Birthday Diva

January 6Th Diva will be 5 years old. She came to us April 15, 2006 and that's how Hidden Haven started. Diva was our only goat for awhile so she made the chickens and me her herd. She followed me everywhere. Not once did she wonder off but would stay with me while I worked outside or if I forgot to close the door she would even follow me inside.

Diva is the queen of the homestead and everyone that meets her loves her. She may truly be a bit of a diva but she has a very loving and kind heart. To celebrate Diva's birthday I decided to throw her a party. I know its early but week days are always busy around here. I had thought I would set the cake out and Diva would sniff at it while I took pictures. I only had seconds to get photos as she, Sammi and Princess Diva inhaled that cake!

All in all despite party hats being knocked to the ground, (Diva was a lady and kept hers on) the party was a big success. Sammi has ask for chocolate cake for her birthday... what have I gotten myself into????

Thanks for letting us be part of the party. It looks like a fun time was had by all. I had a similar situation today with my chickens and a piece of bread. Buttercup did NOT want to share.

Diva is quite a beauty. I love her markings. I must say, I had to laugh at the pictures of Diva in your house (I probably would have done the same thing). Hope your husband didn't get mad when he noticed hoofprints in the carpet! If he didn't notice, your secret's safe with me! ;-)

You know, you could make them dulce de leche cake (cake with sweet milk). Seems appropriate for goats!

Well, they're girls. What do you expect. Put a cake in front of us and we lose our heads completely! No wonder they inhaled it!!

Oh goodness gracious, hope Diva has a wonderful 5th birthday tomorrow, this is one reason I don't give our 49 goats a birthday party since I couldn't afford to make different kinds of cakes or buy different kinds of cakes to just please them, LOL.

How cute is that? Those goats are spoiled to the max!! If I were a goat I'd certainly want to live at Hidden Haven!!

Reading your last few posts and picturing you sitting with only the lamps lit and the fire going and the water warm for tea! A very cozy, peaceful, and happy picture! I wish you, your family, and Hidden Haven and occupants, many blessings, joy, happiness, and prosperity during the New Year!

Peggy,

Give Diva a hug for me and wish her a Happy Birthday. I wish her many more happy years at Hidden Haven.

Enjoyed visiting and the sounds of the frog chorus. I haven't heard that sound in a long time. We just don't seem to have as many frogs around here as we used to.

Blessings,
Mary
