I go out after supper and make sure the outside lights are on and all the animals are snuggled down for the night. Diva, Sammi and Princess Diva didn't appreciate my using the flash on the camera and waking them up. They are finally settled in the maternity pen. A few more days and there will be new kids! When I checked on the other girls DiDi wasn't feeling well. She is big with this pregnancy and the baby/babies moving around were making her uncomfortable. I sat down and she put her head in my lap so I could rub her back and talk with her.
Last year she had a very very rough delivery so I try to give her extra attention and rubs to keep her calm. She came to us already bred but was undernourished which I think was the reason for such a hard delivery. This year she is in really good health and hopefully will have a easy labor and delivery. Sonya was trying to bite my fingers while I rubbed DiDi so I thought she wanted to be rubbed. When I tried to rub her back she still wanted to bite my fingers. Don't know whats up with her tonight. I also had ViVi and Bridie standing behind me trying to lick my neck and chew on my hair. I tried to take a picture over my shoulder of the two of them. Bridie jumped down and ViVi was startled by the flash
Hopefully they are all settled down for a good nights sleep. The fireworks had them all spooked last night making sure none of us got much sleep. I will go out several times during the night to check on the girls. Want to make sure if any babies are born during the night they get dried off good and don't get a chill. When January arrived so did the kidding season at Hidden Haven!

Very cute photos - the fireworks of the neighborhood kids got our dog & 2 cats all upset too. If not for that, I would not have known it was New Year's Eve!!!!!

The little goats are so cute. I do hope all goes well during kidding season. You are such a good shepherdess to watch over them so diligently!

How excited to have a bunch of new kids around... They are always so adorable! I've been looking for a new little, tiny puppy.... With the camp I can't have big dogs around or other people will feel they can bring them in and when you have 200 plus kids -- meaning children around... It can be rough on a dog would wonders around.

Hugs to you and praying for safe and easy deliveries!

What a blessing to have all these beautiful animals to tend to. I know it is hard work but their love for you is unconditional.
