Tom and Jerry

No they are not ducks.

No they are not bunnies.

No they are not mice or rats.

No they are not turkey

No they are not chickens

No they are not puppies.

And though I wish they were llamas... No they are not llamas.

I have been trying to downsize our homestead by selling some of the kid bucklings. Some of the dwarf goats. Sold some chickens and bunnies. But we still seem to be adding animals around here. Oreo came from a daycare that no longer wanted him. Sparky and Smokey came from a family that just didn't have the time to spend with them like they wanted because of school and sports. Well Tom and Jerry came to us because the family has moved on to horses and busy taking horseback riding lessons. They just wanted to find a good home for Tom and Jerry. Where they could run and play. Well they have that here. Meet Tom and Jerry

They are right at home and only been here one night. Jerry will come right up to me for a pet but Tom isn't so sure. The lady said he didn't like women. Bet I can win him over with cookies! Tom and Jerry are wether goats. Meaning they are bucks that have been fixed. We don't know their age or their breed. Anyone got any idea? We do know Jerry is a escape artist. Guess where they are staying? Of course in the jailhouse with ViVi. She doesn't like it very much but soon I will be moving them to a different pen. Once they realize they are here to stay and be spoiled I will move them with the other boys.

You have such a good heart and it will cost you!!!It must be expensive to take care of and feed all these wonderful creatures! I just don't know how you do it. It's the vet bills that kill us!!

I'd say nigerian dwarves, or some kind of mix.. They look pretty small.. But not really short and stocky like a pygmy.. Just my guess though..

Speaking of Vivi made me think of a goat we had (Bambi) that jumped on everything. I mean everything. He was our oldest daughter's pet, went everywhere with her. Up they went on hay stacks, over the corral poles, everywhere. When she wasn't with Bambi he was either to be in his pen or tethered in the orchard. But sometimes she would forget (10 is such a forgetfull time) and he would jump on everything, the roof of the tile house, the chicken house the wood pile, just everything.

One day I couldn't find Bambi we all started looking for him, there he was way down the road, hunkered down in the weeds waiting for TERRY to come up the road so he could jump on the pick up. BOINK Boink Boink. WOOOOOOO was Terry mad.

Shannon was really good about watching her goat friend, but Bambi had other ideas, we scolded, we told him Dad said if he ever does that again he will have to go to the Indian reservation, Bambi was good for several months. Then one day....boink, boink, boink.

You could see that goat thinking, and planning.

Bambi went to live on the Indian reservation. Sigh.

Peggy, I'm not an experienced goat person but they look like my Nigerian Dwarf bucks except for their stomach line along the bottom. Yours look straight and mine have a rounder appearance.

Bless your heart. God smiles on you honey.

They are sure cute. Thanks for coming by to say Happy B.D. Like listening to the birds chirp and a bee buzzing every now and then. Is it current? Is it that warm where ever you are? Still cold, windy and dry here.

I can relate only on a smaller scale and with chickens. But I've sold some to keep the numbers small and then I end up with alot more. If you feel the need to keep them, keep them. Give them a good life!

You need to rent out your petting zoo to malls and fairs. Make the critters earn their keep.

Peggy,

Oh, Tom and Jerry are darling. What sweet creatyres. You are lucky to have so many animals to bond with, although I know it is hard work taking care of them.

Haven't heard from you in some time, but I know how busy you are. It won't be long until you are birthing more goats.

Take care and be sure to take some time for yourself, my friend.

Blessings,
Mary

These are Nigerian Dwarves, Peggy. They look pretty much purebred.

Please let us know if you are going to place any of the goats you got from Rosie- Didi and Sonya came from me, and I delivered Bossy Toe.
